I worked at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

They will let you work literally on anything you claim you know. I had the luxury of learning new areas hands on at the cost of the company.

    Cons

No increase, lot of unwanted and unrelated exams. Almost zero progression.
Only people close to the higher management tend to grow. Hard work never pays.
Lot of cost cutting. Sometimes, they ask you to spend from your pocket on official trips.
    Leadership is pathetic.
    Separation process is a pain.
    Rude HR.

    Advice to Management

Reward the employees who work hard
Please be practical on spending limits on official trips.
    Make the HRs approachable.
Stop replacing experienced people with college fresh outs.

I worked at Wipro as a contractor

    Pros

Only work for this organization if you enjoy being bullied, and are part of a culture which likes to take advantage of international employees based offshore.

    Cons

Wow. The whole culture at WIPRO is really in sync with Intel. There is a constant need to belittle others. Not just for the sake of belittling, but to use that "power" to get ahead. As WIPRO does not seem to offer yearly raises employees are fighting each other, putting each other down, hoping that Intel will hire them directly. Then, it's more of the same from what I have read and discussed with former Intel employees. It's a twisted culture. It also explains why I -- as a bookish person, with introverted interests -- was constantly looked over for my work after credit was stolen by a person who seized the reigns from an absentee boss who made everyone's life miserable. She felt she had to "get ahead" through intimidation of both WIPRO employees and kissing up to the sacred "green badges," meaning the direct hire Intel employees. At one point I sat & watched her take down a system I developed. Then, a few weeks later, when an Intel employee with whom we had to interface suggested the same system she turned around & said, "Well, that's a great idea!"

    Advice to Management

Get rid of staff who only wish to be hired by the company to whom you are contracted. You are truly the most unprofessional company with whom I have dealt. Furthermore, make sure your employees who are both native & non-native speakers alike, know proper grammar and diction. Working with someone who refused to do either -- and refused to use adverbs -- is a slight against you and your engagement.

    I worked at Wipro full-time

    Pros

You can get as much overtime as you need if it is available.

    Cons

Absolutely no pay raise! Un-organnized. Everyone is their own boss. The associates have sexual relationships with management as well. Also, there is no opportunity for advancement unless you know someone that knows someone.

    I worked at Wipro full-time

    Pros

Lots of communication, but not structured. Good marketing.

    Cons

Too-many decision makers, culture impedes progress and financial success, actions are far removed for marketing declarations, senior management are untrustworthy, doesn't take long for new clients to see Wipro marketing and communications are far removed from good services execution, no mentoring. Overall, a poorly managed services company that relies heavily on hype, instead of reality.

    Advice to Management

Do much better setting up and execution readiness for claimed abilities of marketing. Radically reduce number of decision making personnel in an account. Do what your marketing language claims, more direct action vice marketing hype.
