I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hard working people, little empires so can make a success for yourself by not helping others. Great emphasis on continuous learning.

    Cons

Poison culture of promise the client all knowing that the staff are not available to deliver. Kpis drive culture with no care for the people and very hierarchical

    Advice to Management

Please be joined up and stop silo mentality driven by departmental and personal success at expense of others in firm.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a colleague once said they provide me with a chair...

    Cons

If you have a white face your opinion isn't valued.
HR do not want to deal with people - quote I only talk to senior managers.
Management is ineffective and mostly ill equipped to work in the UK.
    Off-shore engineers are frighteningly poor.
On more than one occasion I have been ordered to lie to the customer and to cover up errors made off-shore.
    Full of sycophants.
    These people are a joke!!!

    Advice to Management

Try managing and treating people with respect...

I worked at Wipro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The salary and bonus structure is about the only thing good about Wipro. Their expense policy is also good apart from they very slow to reimburse them.

    Cons

I found it very hard to work with Wipro, they give grand title here in the UK but no authority to do anything. They treat their off shore people who come on shore unbelievably bad.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating UK people as the white faces of your company.

    Pros

Decentralisation, where the Client is matters. Wipro is decentralised.

    Cons

Faceless Management, little investment in people

    Advice to Management

    Manage

I have been working at Wipro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They occasionally pay you some of your salary and benefits.
They pay you the rest of your salary and benefits if you realise and can prove to them that they've made a mistake...again!

    Cons

HR in the UK is an absolute joke.
Middle managers promise opportunity but never deliver.
You do not get paid regularly with the correct amounts.
They make many many mistakes and are very slow to correct.
    Most mistakes will involve HR!!!
Not responding to email and requests is part of the Wipro culture. They will ignore anything that will not benefit the company directly and be very slow at paying their bills if at all.
Stay well clear as a customer or employee.
Staff are very demotivated. Even the rare good ones are not incentivised to provide a good service to clients.

    Advice to Management

Be honest. Don't promise non Indian employees any career progression.
Forget the PDD process it just makes you look bad when you do not deliver on your promises and employee become demotivated.
Thinking about it, Wipro does not have effective management they just have finance guys maximising profits for the company anyway they can without any regard for people or quality of service.
You've failed myself and all the other TUPE'd staff in our organisation. I'll be moving on shortly with you as just a bad distant memory.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Quarterly Bonuses are usually paid, chance to work with some excellent people.

    Cons

    Too many to list
Staff are treated like slaves. Nobody in management listens to staff, benefits are next to non existent. Reviews are meaningless, you can receive a message from the CIO of a client saying your excellent and you're still rated as just OK.

    Advice to Management

Best thing that could happen is they fire most of the C grade as they are totally useless.

I worked at Wipro (More than a year)

    Pros

Exposure to new experiences; wide client base

    Cons

Hard working environment; not very european work ethic; said yes to everything even if they couldn't follow through; not much empowerment as a specialist to provide advice - had to follow the company line; very pushy when assigning non-local work locations

    Advice to Management

listen to your staff from the local country, they do actually understand the market

    Pros

Can't think of anything. Used to be a good Indian company lost all credentials in last few years. Hopefully new leadership will bring some positive changes

    Cons

Bad leadership. Low salary. Lack of depth in service offerings. Highly duplicitous culture. Poor diversity. Women are discriminated against. Number of lawsuits.

    Advice to Management

    Start from scratch
