I worked at Wipro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The hours are flexible - as long as your work is done, and you attend your meetings on time, you can pretty much work from home

    Cons

Getting a pay rise, or promotion is close to impossible, you literally have to quit your job for them to see your value, and then they eventually give you what you're looking for.

    Advice to Management

Stop employing dumbasses to manage other people.

I worked at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Its like a govt company with no quality processes.

    Cons

    1. Hiring team just hire a person without letting them know under which category they are hiring them and why.
2.Once you join the company you got to know that you are not Fixed term or full time or what so ever and policies are different for each one of them.No one bother to explain you about policies ,Everything comes as a surprise.
3.All the processes and approvals are done from India team nothing is in hands of people sitting here in UK which is annoying and they have worst communication with each other and finally the employee suffers.
4.There are common channels where you can send any query but after receiving the email everyone just keep on delegating to different person or team
5.I send around 50 emails and email chain continued for 4 months and then final response came with a surprise before that everyone just keep on cc each other with one common line "XYZ" please help and guide"
6.I wanted to forward that email to Mr. Azim Premji and let him know how much ownership people are taking.

    Advice to Management

Take some ownership and understand you work and do it with honesty

I worked at Wipro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

A good group of people on the whole though let down by people in decision making positions

    Cons

This organisation has fundamental issues within its management structure. Not willing to listen to cultures outside of HQ location. There is a subtle element of discrimination towards non Indians and also a lot of sexism despite management and HR endeavors. The cultural barriers are still to be torn down
Not a place to work at if you are not from the HQ country. HR people do not act for you in a role of HR and welfare, and seem more interested in staff being on billable roles.

    Advice to Management

Time to open your ears to people from outside of India

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Some interesting work with big customers, but good assignments are less in the rapid move to commodity work. Good bonus scheme.

    Cons

Where to start. Poor management, total disregard for staff, poor benefits, only an Indians opinions matter and wages frozen if you over achieve too often.

    Advice to Management

Treat staff with respect not disdain. Stop the endless raise to dumb everything down. Stop employing family relatives in senior positions that know nothing. Realise your a multinational company now not an Indian sweat shop.

I worked at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Some of the Health benefits are actually quite good. Compensation was OK. Some (a minority) of the management are actually quite good.

    Cons

Toxic, political work environment. The sort of work environment which gives Indian outsourcers the reputation of being sweat shops. Expect to work long hours. Bullying is rampant. There is no respect for your personal time and space or personal life. You are expected to be available on a 24/7/365 basis. Managers lack maturity and are bullies. Respect for the individual is non existent. Their values only exist on paper.

    Advice to Management

You need to completely rehaul your work culture, respect your employees and customers. follow the excellent values you enumerate on paper

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Hard working people, little empires so can make a success for yourself by not helping others. Great emphasis on continuous learning.

    Cons

Poison culture of promise the client all knowing that the staff are not available to deliver. Kpis drive culture with no care for the people and very hierarchical

    Advice to Management

Please be joined up and stop silo mentality driven by departmental and personal success at expense of others in firm.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

As a colleague once said they provide me with a chair...

    Cons

If you have a white face your opinion isn't valued.
HR do not want to deal with people - quote I only talk to senior managers.
Management is ineffective and mostly ill equipped to work in the UK.
    Off-shore engineers are frighteningly poor.
On more than one occasion I have been ordered to lie to the customer and to cover up errors made off-shore.
    Full of sycophants.
    These people are a joke!!!

    Advice to Management

Try managing and treating people with respect...

I worked at Wipro full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The salary and bonus structure is about the only thing good about Wipro. Their expense policy is also good apart from they very slow to reimburse them.

    Cons

I found it very hard to work with Wipro, they give grand title here in the UK but no authority to do anything. They treat their off shore people who come on shore unbelievably bad.

    Advice to Management

Stop treating UK people as the white faces of your company.

Decentralisation, where the Client is matters. Wipro is decentralised.

    Cons

Faceless Management, little investment in people
