I worked at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depends largely on your team and manager and the client they deploy you to. If the client is working on decent technologies and has good work conditions you can enjoy the job.

    Cons

Very bureaucratic and too much overhead work in terms of process. Expect to own your weekends and you can be asked to turn things around over them.

    Advice to Management

There are too many companies trying to differentiate themselves one way or another by publishing white papers and conducting webinars on areas expecting to be recognized as experts. That unfortunately doesn't change people's perception of what Wipro is.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Nice people to work with, very few people I wouldn't work with again. Good on benefits and timely appraisal.

    Cons

Where do I start. Do not expect any form of pay raise, so go in high. Appraisals are a waste of time, progression is none existent.

    Advice to Management

    Start Managing!

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is ok and empowered to get on with things. Lots of online training available. Employee mobile apps are decent for managing time sheets and Other HR stuff.

    Cons

Too much tick in a box approach to training and annual reviews. Definite bias towards offshoring, UK resources are seen as a necessary but would rather not need them.

    Advice to Management

Concentrate more on people than the perception that you value them.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    - Stability of location as client engagements tend to be long term
    - online training opportunities in the latest technology areas
    - Good immediate managers

    Cons

    - still a bangalore based company with strong emphasis on offshore resourcing.
    - Senior Management is Bangalore Based. UK employees could be a bit lost in terms of culture or information flow.
    - lack of career progression opportunities in UK
    - people dont respond to emails unless it is a win-win deal.

    Advice to Management

    None

I have been working at Wipro full-time

    Pros

Respect for skilled workers, different career paths like Architect, Consultant and Project Management streams

    Cons

Too much vertical management layer and because of vertical and service line differences, senior architects/consultants need to report to less experienced (and even lower band) project managers.

    Advice to Management

Reduce management layer and let technical managers be there to lead programs

    Pros

Well laid down processes.. Large accounts. Nice campuses

    Cons

Salary not competitive. Policies are old and not always employee friendly. A bit stuck with business model

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None. I would try not to work for these forms for the first few years of your career. They do not care about you or your scary. They will assign you to roles you have no experience in.

    Cons

You are forced to work 9.5 hours a day, and that average must be maintained by hook or crook. The number of holidays is even less, 1.5 a month, 5 sick days, and 2 additional holidays. They have no respect for public or declared holidays as they will force you to come over the weekend to compensate. Limited support for your role after the first month. You’ll have to look after yourself.

    Advice to Management

You should really work towards helping your employees reach a work life balance. Work less hours and give more holidays. More support to employees to grow at a personal or professional level, and not force assessments on your employees. Let their work speak for them.

I have been working at Wipro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Some talented people who are very willing to help.
An incredible amount of flexibility to satisfy customer needs, people work very long hours and take pride in getting praise and appreciation from the customer for a job well done.

    Cons

The bureaucracy can be stifling, also any form of financial approval is heavily concentrated at the top with the executives in India, Bangalore.
The organisation is very sales oriented and quarterly focused, getting the right resources to deliver projects on time and to quality and on budget is a challenge.

    Advice to Management

Improve attrition rate, re-organise and stabilise delivery, have more customer renewals and better career paths for star employees. Think more long term.
