I worked at WireCo WorldGroup full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Company has good benefits and has a great IT team

    Cons

Job Security - WireCo was bought out and some of the most valuable employees were let go impacting moral.

    Advice to Management

    Think first act later...

    Pros

There are great people that work there. A lot of history and employees have great knowledge.

    Cons

A lot of downsizing at the time. It was hard to work in that type of an unstable environment.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the employees more and work to stabilize the workforce. The instability and all of the changes were concerning.

I worked at WireCo WorldGroup full-time

    Pros

Wonderful people to work with and has interesting international exposure due to plants being located around the world.

    Cons

Poor management that caused extremely high turnover and was more of a circus. Senior management was more interested in posturing themselves than running a company and don't listen to the workers. It's been owned by PE Firms who don't really care about employees and most of the revenue is tied to the oil and gas market.

    Advice to Management

    Listen to employees

Good people. Friendly, supportive environment. Nice offices.

    Cons

Apprehensive to change. Processes could be improved.

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees' ideas. Change is not always a bad thing.

    Pros

Best management i've ever worked under. Fast pace, but excellent teamwork in all areas. The push to do more is present and it is a fun environment.

    Cons

oil and gas industry wasn't doing so hot a few years ago and some people in plants were laid off. Other than that, it was a great learning opportunity.

    Advice to Management

    keep doing what you're doing.

  6. "Tough markets for fundamentally good business"

Former Employee - Finance in Prairie Village, Johnson, KS

I worked at WireCo WorldGroup full-time

    Pros

    - Global connectivity across various departments and sites
    - High-energy, motivated Finance & Accounting teams with direct exposure to Executive Leadership
    - CFO encourages environment and opportunities for various team members in organization to lead projects / meetings / etc.
    - Investments made across Operations leadership with Lean and OpEx background
    - Very focused on employee safety across all sites

    Cons

    - Indecisive PE owner
    - Strategy and vision unclear (likely tied to point #1 - PE owner)
    - Limited succession planning in place
    - Select markets served have been on a historical slump since Q4 2014. As with any business going through a trough, shorter term decision making is required and employees need to understand this. At the end of the day, that's the nature of running a business.

    Advice to Management

    1. Continue commitment to Operational Excellence
    2. Address and over communicate WireCo's strategy / vision
    3. Inspire risk taking, innovation and creativity across all levels in the organization

Listen to your employees when they voice concerns.

I worked at WireCo WorldGroup full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The promises that are made upon offer can include five weeks of vacation, support for education and professional development are encouraging. The new office is beautiful and much more convenient to the city.

Hardworking employees bond closely as they discuss the many ways the company is not what it used to be.

WireCo pays VERY well but be aware you may be working late (9-10pm is not unusual.). The money is definitely there - it's just not a long term job if you value work/life balance.

    Cons

WireCo is borderline discriminatory with zero leadership positions filled by females and zero efforts to support female talent. Employee engagement is abysmal. Turnover is crazy high and employees speak openly that they are ready to jump ship as soon as another opportunity comes along. Business relies on ancient systems and shifting sands. Processes are designed to support a small town factory rather than a global manufacturing organization.

    Advice to Management

Be honest that you are only staying long enough to right a teetering company, cash in on your equity grants and move on. The meetings where the CEO is screaming at the sales team loud enough to be heard down the hall are non-inspiring and feed a culture of fear. Proactively and deliberately foster a respectful and diverse workforce. Insist on diversity hiring efforts that will minimize risk of litigation. Communicate and listen to your talent before it walks out the door.

pretty good benefits - great coworkers-

I worked at WireCo WorldGroup full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Indoors lots of days off have one weekend off every other weekend

    Cons

After 3 years there will be no more raises at all for any reason then when their work slows which is every year around the end they get rid of people using seniority so new people get fired always. Even after 3 years
