I have been working at Wisewire full-time

    Pros

15 days paid time off in first year, can work from home if I wanted, a lot of people work from home. The new downtown offices are a block away from the Inner Harbor.

    Cons

The benefits keep changing but the company pays to keep them down. A lot of different people are working on different projects.

I have been working at Wisewire full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

There is lots of flexibility to design a work schedule around your personal life and needs. The vast majority of co-workers are friendly, capable, and genuinely dedicated to the job. Cool new office (as of June 2017) in downtown Baltimore, with comped parking. Good benefits and generous PTO. I generally feel appreciated and respected, and I have worked on a wide variety of projects and had the opportunity to learn many skills. My criticisms of senior management notwithstanding (see "cons"), my direct supervisors have been consistently supportive and caring.

    Cons

No transparency re: salaries (despite a vow from HR a few years ago to become transparent), but I suspect everyone recognizes they are underpaid. Very poor communication from senior management on issues both large and small --- to give one example: it is inexcusable to give everyone new job titles and then take well-over a year to finalize job descriptions and goals. Poorly bid projects result in scope creep and schedules that are unreasonably tight ("aggressive" is the buzzword). Inconsistent training and frequent turnover at all levels. The increasingly undeniable sense that management would rather farm out work to freelancers than invest in full-time employees and institutional knowledge.
