    Pros

I had an unforgettable experience this past summer working as an intern for Wiss. As a rising junior in college, this was my first time working in a professional, corporate environment. Nevertheless, it was beyond enjoyable, and I truly looked forward to coming to work. Every employee was so approachable and friendly, but specifically, my department (HR) went above and beyond to include me as a team member. They not only encouraged me to voice my ideas, but also implemented many of them, and cultivated an environment where innovation can flourish. If more companies treated their employees with the effort and care that Wiss exudes, more employees would be engaged, and subsequently more companies would be successful. I will sincerely miss the Wiss culture, my amazing department, Wiss Olympics and ice cream socials, and will be definitely be a frequent visitor!

    Cons

My commute! (completely a personal problem)

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!

I worked at Wiss & Company (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great culture at this firm. Everyone is extremely approachable and friendly and everyone is very tight-knit and close.

    Cons

Occasionally, because the senior staff and supervisors are so busy, you are given a lot of mindless work (but as an intern, what do you expect?) but I would have liked more clarifications and teaching on what I was actually doing instead of being told just to do it and make sure numbers are matching (i.e. why do the numbers have to match?)

I worked at Wiss & Company full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Work/life balance, salary, PTO time, benefits and training were all great. Most of the partners were easy to work with. Work load during busy season was tough but Wiss is a very "team" atmosphere so it worked. Wiss gives back to the community often which is nice. They did a lot for the staff, admin's, managers to show they were appreciated.

    Cons

A bit too clicky and sometime elementary school-ish but other than that it was a fantastic place to work.

    Advice to Management

Enough with the goofy stuff hung up like its 4th grade.

I have been working at Wiss & Company full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Entrepreneurial, fast paced, good culture. Not a lot of cliques. Good clients and industries. Nice work space. Multiple offices. Good group of people.

    Cons

Base salary can be slightly less than you would find at a bigger firm such as a big four or large regional firm

    Advice to Management

Pay as much as you possibly can in order to retain key staff and managers

    Pros

Top 100 public accounting firm- great location right next to Madison square, quiet environment and not stressful assignments. As far as the work, very manageable.

    Cons

High school feel - clicks - gossip etc.
I've worked there for a while and they stress a great culture but that is not really the case. Everyone sticks to their group

    Advice to Management

Management in the Livingston office is awesome
