I worked at Wolfgang Puck Catering full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being a vendor for Microsoft -offers benefits. It is a Compass Group company so opportunity to transfer throughout the company.

    Cons

The venue management that regional Vice President and corporate put in place does not work. 70% of the time I was there/the drama present reminded me of high school then at work. I either witnessed or was a victim of the head games. My performance was overlooked by management and my value was based more on managements acceptance of the views of manipulative coworkers. This actually became a Pro in the end, as it assisted my new role as management at a new company that understands the vital importance of work place ethics.

    Advice to Management

    Get training.

I worked at Wolfgang Puck Catering full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

High-profile events, great name recognition, getting to work with incredibly talented chefs and cooks.

    Cons

Upper management consistently showed a complete lack of respect for or concern for anyone below director level. Often more concerned with the bottom line and self-congratulation, higher earning sales opportunities were often taken away from lower level employees by more senior employees. Little to no training or professional development is provided. Mentorship is not a priority, Employee work/life balance is not a priority. Service staff not treated especially well. Limited career advancement prospects above director level.

    Advice to Management

Prioritizing people over profit would go a long way in ensuring long-term employee satisfaction, retention, and drive to make the company more money.
