I worked at Wolfgang Puck Catering full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Being a vendor for Microsoft -offers benefits. It is a Compass Group company so opportunity to transfer throughout the company.

    Cons

The venue management that regional Vice President and corporate put in place does not work. 70% of the time I was there/the drama present reminded me of high school then at work. I either witnessed or was a victim of the head games. My performance was overlooked by management and my value was based more on managements acceptance of the views of manipulative coworkers. This actually became a Pro in the end, as it assisted my new role as management at a new company that understands the vital importance of work place ethics.

    Advice to Management

    Get training.

I worked at Wolfgang Puck Catering (Less than a year)

    Pros

Set work days, good benefits, guaranteed 2 days off.

    Cons

Work-life balance. Lack of leadership. Very little knowledge within upper management.

    Advice to Management

Review the turnover rate of good employees as a sign or poor management. And then change the manangement.

I worked at Wolfgang Puck Catering full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Fast paced. Always new events. Lots of different experience to be gained. Good If you like changing environment and independent work as well as group work..

    Cons

When the slow times come, hours get drastically cut. This company has certain elements that are sometimes too "corporate" and it cant take away from the feel of "home" some people like to have at work. Lots of veterans working at this company... They tend to stick together and new people are sometimes treated as outsiders.

    Advice to Management

Create a system so that some employees are full time and guaranteed work when it gets slow, and some employees are not.

I worked at Wolfgang Puck Catering (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Free food. Had the opportunity for a great experience, but training to succeed is minimal.

    Cons

Unrealistic expectations and requirements of their staff. If you are fine working five different positions and being underpaid this is he company for you. Also better training is required. No training is really offered except for o the job.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees better. They are the backbone in which your company is built on. Realize that when you cut hours without a plan you lose your backbone.

    Pros

If you have a passion for people, can work independently as well as part of the team and want the best for your co-workers by leading by example. Then you will enjoy it here.

    Cons

Sometimes when one is on a team, you come across a negative Nancy or ones that do not want to take effort in a job well done. But if you are strong in your ethics, nothing SHOULD stop you.

    Advice to Management

Having persons with **experience ** in charge, makes for a better team environment as well as a "secured" team environment

I worked at Wolfgang Puck Catering part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Free gourmet food to take home if you work with the right captain

    Cons

Long tedious hours getting yelled at randomly from various people in positions above you, no training whatsoever, very rarely do you get the chance to be informed of what you are stepping into, very unlikely to be clocked out based on the agreed upon shift, you will never make 40 hours a week because even if you end up working a longer shift and have already been booked for the rest of the week, they will drop a shift to keep you from qualifying for insurance.

If you are young and can hack it, it's a good job to get for the free food and possible exposure to celebrities, but that's literally all there is. You will need another job just to make ends meet.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees with respect
