I have been working at Wolfson Microelectronics full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

great learning environment, esp for new grads/ juniors.. you're exposed to different departments and you get to choose your speciality after 2 years.
project managers separate from suervisors, so less bullsh!t
shared culture of trust & constructive criticism esp when it comes to technical stuff
amazing set of people, now fast diminishing!
    flexi timings
not much beuraucracy, at least in IC design.

    Cons

management keeps changing priorities & too many re-orgs
getting too much into software is diluting the IC business - real core of the company seems to have been lost
not much training budget in the past few years due to low revenues

    Advice to Management

refocus on core analogue audio and you can still beat the best in business, don't invest too much in software

    Pros

    The people.
Lots of opportunity to develop a broad range of skills.

    Cons

The main issue is the lack of managment . Priorities change regularly and timescales are always tight. As a result the quality of the work is often compromised.

    Advice to Management

It is important that priorities don't change so often.
Listen to what your team has to say.
Engineers like to work to a high standard, please don't let tight timescales compromose this.
