I worked at Wood Group Kenny full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great support from manager and VP.
Senior management sat out on the floor with their teams.

    Cons

IT had was always an issue for me. Frequently, my issues had to be elevated to my manager and above to force IT to resolve the issue.
For the last year I was there, too much focus was placed on rebranding and too little effort spent on finding work.

    Advice to Management

Rebrand should be a very low priority and should never distract from finding and securing additional work.

    Pros

Good pay and benefits, good people/social events

    Cons

Changes over the last 1.5 years have caused confusion and bad decisions. However, I'm sure the economic environment has affected decision-making greatly.

    Advice to Management

Come up with a strategy to implement with current economic conditions, and stick with it, modifying only slightly as things improve, so that there can be more consistency in practices. Hopefully, this will help employees will feel less anxiety over what will happen next.

I worked at Wood Group Kenny full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Benefits are good, most coworkers were pleasant to interact with, and the office building is in a park like setting.

    Cons

During the current downturn few employees are given as much as a month notice their jobs will end, while most others are surprised with immediate termination, and those at the end of the month are left with only hours to possibly use health benefits before they stop at the end of the month. The current management does not treat people equally when it comes to severance packages.

    Pros

Wood Group Kenny bases their mission statement on Servant Leadership. For the most part this holds true, it definitely did in the past, and is starting to resurface after the oil and gas crash starting in last November. It will take a little while for the recovery processes to give an indication of improvement, but the leadership team, HR, and the managers have done a tremendous job in trying their best to hold on to existing manpower. But the downward vortex continues, and ALL of the companies relative to Subsea FEED work are trying to remain "above the water"

    Cons

I have read some of the reviews from others who were released from employment. These reviews are not based on the reality of the situation, and more on a belief of entitlement. We are still under going "growing pains", just like everyone else. And not one company in the GoM has not seen some key members of staff having to be released due to the obvious factor of lack of work. We have all been pulled in, some companies more than others...

    Advice to Management

Keep your head up, move forward, and continue to work on future clientele.
