    Pros

Good, interesting project work with a chance to use a very wide variety of different skills.

    Cons

Management incredibly weak, inept or too wiling to intervene for the wrong reasons.

    Advice to Management

De-layer the management structure and empower the people actually involved in the work. Dethrone some of the princes and princesses who hold sway and have little knowledge to share.

    Pros

The mix of experiences and responsibilities ratcheted upwards as the downturn hit so you are given a chance to learn to multitask fast and keep up with the tight schedule and falling headcount.

    Cons

Top heavy management, tenders became unattractive compared to the competition. Cutting the number of bodies who do the actual work is only going to weaken the company's position to respond when the market picks up again.

    Advice to Management

Fund managers aren't interested in safety or due diligence and time required to deliver a job safely.
