Plenty of opportunity to navigate your career in the direction you wish.
    Travel opportunities and international projects.
    Competitive benifits and compensation.
    On-site health clinc.
Tremendous support from Dept. managers for those that have initiative and career goals.
Staffed leanly so down times like 2008 and 2009 are not as harsh.

    Cons

Its growth has cause a little bit of the 'Mustang Feel' to wear off.
Its in Houston so there is traffic!

    Advice to Management

Continue the development of the next generation of technical gurus and leaders. It will pay for itself big time. Emphasis on technical.

    Pros

Mustang recognizes the value of its workers experience. They use this experience to grow the employee and the client. The employees are Mustang.

    Cons

Pay is below market and little health benefits. There are times when the bureaucracy stands in the way of production.

    Advice to Management

Don't let the pencil pushers get in the way of production. There are times when people with control issues are dominating the computers and keeping us from production.

    Pros

Creativity, teamwork, servant leadership, and flexibility are very important to leaders at all levels in the company. It is not just a logo that people are everything, it's how they operate. The interview is not your standard test on whether you're good enough, they take most of the time to ask your interests and what YOU want to do. Compensation and benefits are outstanding. I truly feel like the management at all levels genuinely cares about my professional growth, my family's health and happiness, and my interests outside of work.

    Cons

This may not be a good choice for someone who desires a very structured working environment as the company emphasizes the need to meet the desires and demands of each individual project and client in a fit for purpose manner.

    Advice to Management

Keep it up! This is an awesome place to be and I'm truly happy to be here. I look forward to a long career at Mustang.

I have been working at Wood Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible schedule and work environment. Friendly people and upbeat atmosphere. Positive client relationships make it a low stress environment.

    Cons

Lower pay rates than some of the other EPC's in town. Currently going through organizaitonal change and the long term strategy is not always clearly communicated through the ranks.

    Advice to Management

Engage the troops on the project teams more. There is a clear line between the project teams and the corporate overhead staff.

The company is very family oriented and tries to make their people happy. They offer good benefits and offer chances for career advancement.

    Cons

The only problem is that management frown on employees that discuss salaries amongst themselves. Although this is understandable. Not a lot of problems with this company.
