I have been working at Wood Rodgers full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Excellent benefits, laid back environment, lots of perks. Bonuses and yearly recognition for continued employment is a plus. Very modern technology and no annoying dress codes.

    Cons

Hit the glass ceiling with little room for growth after a few years. If you push to increase your responsibilities or give suggestions, you will be put in your place fairly quickly by the main office and management. Management actively ignores employees and give the cold shoulder. Unless they need something from you, you’ll never talk to them. It makes walking past them in the hallways seem like you’ve pissed... them off somehow as they will forcefully avoid eye contact. No idea why this is, as it wasn’t like this a few years ago. The office can be very cliquey so employees in specific groups will be given praise for things such as birthdays or accomplishments where others are completely ignored, but I suppose that's an issue at any office. The office is open flooring and can get very loud, and when you’re facing a critical deadline, it’s nearly impossible to concentrate. Communication between the main office and satellite offices is downright frustrating at times. Nobody seems to know what the other offices are doing. The IT department is based solely out of the main office and appears to get very annoyed by the other offices, especially if you have a question or, God forbid, make a suggestion.

    Wood Rodgers Response

    June 3, 2019

We are always working on ways to improve our culture, environment, and communication. It looks like there is still work to be done and appreciate someone coming forward. It is never the intention of management to ignore anyone – this may be a case of being too busy and too focused on immediate tasks and your point is well taken. This feedback will be shared with our managers. With a recent strategic hire and a new structure in IT, we anticipate more customer service given to all offices. Our culture supports growth, initiative, and process improvement; we encourage you to talk with HR to see what can be done to change how you feel.
