I worked at Woodbine Entertainment Group full-time

    Pros

    Free Coffee

    Nice View

    Food is good, great restaurants

    Has a pension plan

Has some great events every now and then

    Cons

Company is struggling, seems to be mismanaged and lacks leadership and vision.

They use to get a ton of free money from the government and wasted it all.

    Pays under industry average

Forced fake new culture on employees and killed the old one,

HR is the most important business unit. lol

    No work life balance

All money is spent on renovations that include turning one room into a boardroom, then an office, then a chill room, and then back into a boardroom, and then back into an office space. (long term planning)

Company is bleeding money due to over-paid executives and bonuses then gives 1% raise to subordinates.

Doesn't promote from within and hires outside people.

It's in the middle of know-where

    Cons

    - Lack of respect from management
    - Well below average pay for work
    - Concerns and questions never addressed

Listen to your employees, pay them what they deserve, treat them like people, stop moving backwards in the industry, invest in the future.

I have been working at Woodbine Entertainment Group (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you work for Woodbine racetrack and don't appreciate and not feel privileged working for this prestigious company I personally think that you should not be working for it and you don't deserve being part of woodbine

    Cons

    Replacing old utilities and elevators

    Advice to Management

When I started working for woodbine racetrack 11 years ago, this company had more crowd and more reputation
I think the marketing department should wake up and advertise more the company also they should find ways of how to make this company more attractive to young people
Small gifts once in a while don't hurt the company to give away to the clients

I worked at Woodbine Entertainment Group part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Considered to be a "higher" paid security job, starting at about $15.60

    Cons

Poor culture - as a female security guard, I faced a lot of harassment at work. Inappropriate comments about my appearence and a handful of the male security guards made sexual advances/comments towards me. Was asked to have paid sex by a senior security officer, who has been worker there 20+ years (Who has been known to be harrassing women, guests and employees). The supervisors and managers were of this and did not take any action. New employees often just stopped showing up completely.

This is speaking from my experience in the security department at Woodbine Entertainment solely. The other departments were more unified and friendlier.

    Advice to Management

Address harrasment and the hostile environment towards the minority population of security guards, instead of keeping silent.
