I worked at Woodmont Real Estate full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Always busy; great tenants to work with as well as vendors and staff. Routine type work but a variety of duties throughout the day that pulls you from your desk. However, it was a fun job for me. I personally really enjoyed my position where my expertise was helpful. Bonus were given at the end of the year which was a nice incentive; great benefits. Great staff at headquarters. They do have an annual holiday employee seminar kick-off meeting hosted at a hotel banquet room and nominate awards shows. Good company culture.

    Cons

Catty employees who loved gossip and tumultuous working relationships where on-site managers did not see eye to eye on things with HQ accounting. Lots of finger pointing and blaming. Experienced first hand that a lot of upper management do not take the initiative and take full accountability.

    Advice to Management

Take heed from the clients who own the buildings that you manage; no observe how some property managers are incompetent to run the management side of the business.

    Pros

CEO is friendly and seems to want the best, however the other managers and employees not so much, does provide a great good work/life balance, great job for new to the workforce 18 year old individuals

    Cons

benefits are weak, pay is weak (they pay employees at a crap rate in which employees can't even live in the units they rent out!), support is weak, they retain employees/managers that should be terminated and the good employees/managers leave ASAP

    Advice to Management

You really need to spend time to start removing the managers and employees that do nothing and collect paychecks and start rewarding those who are trying to work hard.

I have been working at Woodmont Real Estate (More than 3 years)

    Pros

You will get a small paycheck & overpriced benefits.

    Cons

Poor management style and understaffed properties are a common problem in this company. You will be overworked for little pay as most of their properties are understaffed. Regional managers set unrealistic expectations without adaquite staffing. Overbearing micromanagement of employees & exceptionally poor training. Computer programs from the 80's. Seriously feel like ive gone back in time 30+ years the way opperations work here! Marketing department is also understaffed so many of their duties fall on the property to do. HR department is clueless & very fake. Plus most properties are open on holidays like memorial day, labor day & 4th of July. I would advise anyone considering this company to think twice.

    Advice to Management

There are so many pieces of your puzzle that are failing & not working. You couldn't be further away from your mission statement. Reevaluate how your employees are treated by upper management & you might be able to keep them from leaving.

    Pros

Easy to get hired and promoted if you brown-nose, socializing and befriending supervisors is more important than outstanding performance.

    Cons

Company does not follow its own rules, each property has different guidelines, if you dont become part of the "clique" you will never be taken seriously. Low wages and low bonus payouts that sometimes must be split between employees. Company has grown too quick for its own good, upper management and property managers are overwhelmed and undertrained.

    Advice to Management

Learn the rules, follow the law, give all employees the same training, stop with the 'clique' mentality. CEO, check on your Regional and Property Managers more, see what is really taking place at the properties.

    Pros

The benefits package is decent as is the pay (not great, but ok). If you are in the right area where there are a lot of properties, your chances for advancement are good. If not, you would have to relocate. The HR manager is very good (has their hands full). Not a lot of turnover at the company except in the Marketing department.

    Cons

The company is constantly trying to roll out new education and marketing but never follows through with it. They make a big deal of new programs, then you never hear about them again! The CEO is too involved with the affairs of the sites. I've heard Regional managers have quit over this. Your experience as an employee will depend very much on who your direct supervisor is.

    Advice to Management

Give your on-site and Regional managers more autonomy. People are more intelligent than you give them credit for!
