New management not aligned with employee first culture

    Jun 4, 2021 - Anonymous Employee
    Recommend

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Most of the people you work with are friendly and eager to help.

    Cons

A lot of the management has been changed in the last 1 to 2 years. Several old oracle managers. There is no value placed on work life balance, the management is very passive aggressive and the management culture is very cut throat and toxic. All of the focus is on profit magins and none of the statements about valuing employees or company culture focused on people seem genuine.

It's a great place to work!

    Pros

I have worked at a few startups and a few large companies. This company ranks very high on my list of “the best places to work”. The Workday employees are, hands down, some of the smartest people in tech industry. The bonus is that they are also incredibly nice and foster a supportive work environment. Workday has done a phenomenal job at maintaining a great company culture even with rapid employee growth. They have also done a fantastic job with hiring a diverse technical skill-set from top internet, consumer and enterprise companies. I’ve worked here for a couple of years and I can say with certainty, that the leadership is spectacular. I have watched them navigate a very tough economy with clear direction, clear communication and with the type of flexibility that is necessary to manage a young company in uncertain economic times.

    Cons

No major cons. If you look for problems, you’ll find them, no matter where you work. As with any successful high growth company, we work hard, solve complex problems and walk away feeling like we have accomplished something great. Workday is definitely a place for those who are builders and have personal drive.

    Very Political

Jul 14, 2015 - Anonymous Employee in New York, NY

    Pros

Excellent Technology and innovation. HCM is the bread and butter. The company is growing but has an Oracle/SAP feel to it...very tough to break in culture wise

    Cons

Extremely low pay, poor benefits and immature management team. If you are outside of Pleasanton, it's very hard to figure out how to navigate, most managers assume that you should "just figure it out". In addition, territories are being cut so you may end up with very few accounts to call on and yet your number to reach Quota is huge...it's unrealistic. Very little in the way of upper management support.

    Pros

Workday has a great and supportive company culture Good work-life balance

    Cons

Pretty low salary in comparison to other consulting roles Very niche in terms of specialization and makes it hard to move laterally in the company

    As good as promised

Feb 19, 2019 - Senior Solutions Consultant in London, England

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Manager's are engaged and value your feedback The company seems to go out of its way to show you they care from snack programs, to having a care packaged delivered to your house there seems to be a lot of thinking about employees. Senior Management are very focused on ensuring the culture remains in tact as the company grows. The product is fantastic and it is great to be able to sell it with integrity.

    Cons

So times it is hard to get some genuine constructive feedback as everyone is so programmed to be nice.

Workday is a place where you can truly thrive!

Aug 25, 2022 - Account Executive in London, England
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Workday has market-leading solutions that our customers love (97% CSAT!), yet there is still so much untapped opportunity, which is the absolute dream for an AE! - Quotas are achievable with an equitable split of territories across AEs - There is plenty of opportunity to over-achieve and earn lots of money, if you work hard - You have an amazing support network around you as an AE to really set you up for success - Workday is a company that truly lives up to its values; the culture is one of support and encouragement. Everyone is kind and nothing is too much trouble! - The pay and benefits are fantastic, such as the monthly wellbeing allowance and the ESPP scheme

    Cons

    - I haven't identified any yet - feeling blessed to be a part of this amazing company!

Great company, great culture, great prospect for the future.

Apr 29, 2019 - Senior Product Manager in San Francisco, CA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The culture and future prospects of the company are the best things about this organization.

    Cons

In an effort to keep costs low, cash compensation seems slightly below average. The stock compensation is good but hard to liquidate to sustain a desirable quality of life with a clear conscience given the company's prospects for the future.
