Pros

Culture: The culture here is great for folks like me. The main office has plenty of open space as well as personal offices so that you can work collaboratively or privately, working from home is always an option for almost any reason, hardware provided is high quality, and management is as hands off as you want them to be. Salary & Benefits: Pay is very good, and benefits are absolutely amazing, low deductible health care with 100% of premiums covered by the company--including dependents. Lunch is catered every Friday as well, and the location is right by the market and short north. Parking is also free and can be used on weekends and evenings as well. Work: It's consulting, so this is dependent on which client you are assigned to. The company has a lot of experienced developers across many disciplines who are available to help with unfamiliar languages and frameworks which can make things smoother. In the end, some projects will be a slog and some will be a joy.

Cons

Administration/Management: Management needs to formalize roles, job descriptions, conference/equipment requests, and raise/bonus structures. Communication about all of these is unclear and inconsistent, which can at times make it seem like these functions are simply not available. Management also needs to be much more consistent and timely with feedback and reviews. There are some quarters where self-assessments are ignored and manager assessments not delivered. Without feedback and goal-tracking, your employees can't grow. Salary & Benefits: Yearly raises/bonuses are not present, which is essentially a 1-2% demotion each year based on inflation. Again, transparency would help with this, but more importantly a yearly CoLA or bonus should be considered.

Pros

Boss was relaxed and easy going. He knew what was valuable to the client and directed all of us to that end. The experience of the senior level staff made the difference between a successful project and a failed one. Excellent place to learn about new technologies and use Agile to help implement those new technologies. Ample vacation/sick time.

Cons

Had to deal with poor decision making on the part of the 3rd party vendors.
