I worked at World Duty Free part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I learned a lot about sales and enticing the customer to buy more than one item. I learned about the perfume industry and all the different notes and smell types.

    Cons

It's one of the smaller world duty free stores so they only carry small amounts of perfume skin care candy and alcohol and makeup as opposed to the others which also care handbags more brands of makeup and other items.

I worked at World Duty Free full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It's hire to identify true "pros" to the hourly sales associate positions, I guess the best PRO would be that there was a decent benefits plan in place. And for a short time, there was a solid HR team who really seemed to care and wanted to add value to the employees jobs.

    Cons

Pay to park, pay was minimum wage, lack of leadership, lack of communication, strict attendance policy. Had to pay to park at terminal 2 and light rail to terminal 1 and then go through security and be to the retail location ON time - which meant getting to work 45+ minutes early to be to shift on time

    Advice to Management

Pay better. Be more respectful of employees and listen to your people. Find a way to reduce turn over and appreciate the good people who are still there

    Pros

lots of room for growth if your willing to relocate. Non US business well respected across the world.

    Cons

US business is well under market pay for positions with more responsibility than big box retail. Wage and bonus freezes for salaried managers and regionals.
