I worked at World Fuel Services full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good company, great benefits, wellness program amazing.

    Cons

Managers have no sense of what their employees do, does not understand true duties, assumes its the same for everyone in department and it is not, does not listen, condescending, no respect for work done.

    Advice to Management

Please take the time to listen to your employees, they are the ones doing the work. It is absolutely not all "delegating" at times you must understand what the job entitles and what exactly they are doing in order for you to truly understand their duties, especially when you are managing more than one person supporting different departments.

I worked at World Fuel Services full-time

    Pros

Great benefits; base salary is fair; opportunities for growth

    Cons

The company I worked for was acquired by WFS and there were issues from the get-go. WFS seemed to be in such a hurry to integrate the new company into the WFS processes and systems that key operating processes were dropped, overlooked or completely thrown out without any understanding of why and how these processes were in place to begin with. Layoffs happened quickly and many good people who could have helped with... the integration process were let go before they could use their knowledge and experience to help. There is no expectation of a work-life balance for employees. Hours are long, the environment is stressful and the processes are frustrating.

I worked at World Fuel Services full-time

    Pros

The employees are great. Benefits are good.

    Cons

The company is poorly managed. There are too many "priorities" which means nothing is ever actually accomplished. No leadership in HR. Everyone works in silos. Bonus payouts are not even close to target.

    Advice to Management

Select a few top priorities that can actually be accomplished. Then move on to the next ones.

I worked at World Fuel Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great benefits and facilities for its employees. Very structured with regular meetings and email blasts to keep everyone informed about what is going on and where the organization is headed.

    Cons

Losses track of the greatness of the smaller organizations that it buys up by the dozens. The my way or the highway mentality that WFS brings to the table.

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the people that made the small businesses successful and thriving.

I have been working at World Fuel Services full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

They have great benefits and is in a good central location the majority of the people are really nice, they have a gym and a cafeteria on site.

    Cons

Too many chiefs and not enough indians. They have departments that are bare bones and they come in a 7am and leave at 7pm because there is too much work and not enough workers.

    Advice to Management

Pay your employees more and hire less managers, Give those huge bonuses to the backbone of your company and stop making millionaires richer. Every department has 4 or 5 managers some deptartments have more managers than workers.
