I worked at World Gym part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It really felt like a family when I worked at the North Auburn, WA location. My co workers and my manager were all very tight knit.

    Cons

The owners of that particular location were kind of scum bags, but that's no fault of the company. They simply had the money to buy it, and money is all you need. Your personality and character unfortunately don't matter in that situation.

    Advice to Management

Communication is key. Proper training is also appreciated.

I have been working at World Gym (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - World Gym has a true "family" vibe from the team to the members!
    - There is a good "work hard, play hard" mentality
    - You get a free membership to the BEST GYM IN SAN FRANCISCO!

    Cons

    - we open as early as 5am and close as late as 12am so if you have to open or close, that can be a struggle. But other than that, no complaints.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good job with hiring a strong team!

    Pros

Nice gym with good equipment. Co workers were nice to work with.

    Cons

Pay is low. They threaten to fire someone in every meeting. Most unethical company I have ever worked for. The owners seemed unorganized. Membership Prices were changed on a daily basis. Management has no respect for the employees.

    Advice to Management

Learn some leadership and customer service skills. Stop being greedy.

I have been working at World Gym full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

+ Every day working atmosphere is pleasant, fun, and overall enjoyable!
+ Co-workers who genuinely care about your well being and performance. Sick? You can expect to receive a get well soon card and even phone calls/text messages. Having a rough day? You can expect them to listen to your venting. Overloaded with work tasks? You can expect them to offer their hand to help ease the load.
+ Consistent communication. A lot can go on at one time and/or change in an instant. Everyone here is very quick to voice these happenings to help ensure everybody is up to date with anything going on!
+ Advancement opportunity. If you honestly deserve the reward of a promotion or a raise, you will be noticed. Work ethic is always noticed.
+ Building of relationships with co-workers and clientele. These are the people you not only see every day, but talk to and get glimpses into their personal lives. These people end up becoming your friends and family. It's difficult to feel "alone" while working here.
+ You can never be expected to accomplish a task that your immediate management could not or would not do themselves.
+ The club might be big but the staff is close-knit and with that comes patience and understanding with each other. If somebody begins to slip in terms of their productivity, you have your co-workers behind you in support!
+ Who can forget... a free gym membership

    Cons

-- The occasional rude/disrespectful patrons of the club, but that comes with any and every health club/gym unfortunately.

    Advice to Management

Not to let ex-employee's personal reasons harbor any animosity towards the business hinder what management has continuously always done: strive to keep the club the absolute best place to work... and work out.
