I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time

    Pros

Strong compensation. Unique Brand. Brass rings hanging in every department for those with the drive, ambition, and lack of ethics to reach for them.

    Cons

"Boys club" environment. Top management disregards facts that dispute their pre-conceived beliefs. If anyone decides you are part of the problem, you're gone, regardless of where/when/how you showed up.

    Advice to Management

The sooner the Executive team stops enabling Vince's tendency to change his mind on a whim and commits to any kind of long-term strategy, the company will achieve everything within its grasp.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time

    Pros

    Very pragmatic, can do place.

    Cons

Very tolerant of bad behavior that wouldn't fly in other companies. Hard to advance if an outside hire rather than came up through the ranks.

    Advice to Management

Take a long hard look at some of the practices. There is a great variety between departments

    Pros

WWE is a great company to have on paper on your resume. You will get to work on cool stuff that reaches millions of fans/ppl. Great learning experience and great stepping stone in your career.......Vince really does rock IRL.

    Cons

If you are into office politics, favoritism, racism, sexual harassment, breaking rules and laws - this place is for you! If you are white or indian, you will have a decently long career. If you are anything but those, MAX you will stay there is 3 years. Place is a ticking time bomb of law suits ready to go off.

    Advice to Management

    None, you guys do you!

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Most people director level and below, work hard. They put their blood, sweat and tears into the place. WWE is a machine. They churn out work and produce faster than any other organization I've ever encountered. Other organizations are always impressed if you have worked there, especially if you can last more than 5 years. It is known for a fast paced environment and if you can keep up and be a yes man without having an alternate opinion you will succeed.

    Cons

It is not a 9-5 job. It is a live event company that is ridiculously political. Upper management is phony and only care about themselves. Most of the company is a boys club. You can give your life to the place, work long hours, do work on the wkend and there is no respect for those that are hard working and loyal. You will never be allowed to work from home, and are forced to come in on terrible snow days to show face. You have to be ruthless, phony, and political to succeed. If you want to be happy go elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Have managers and directors take courses so they are educated on systems and so they have the knowledge to get another job in their field. Chances are if employees stay for longer than 5 years, their knowledge on other technology and systems will be forgotten. Respect the employees who do the actual work and are in the office or home at night working on the projects, not just the ones who present the work.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They generally pay well and have very good benefits. There are a lot of passionate people working there. Interesting company willing to try new things.

    Cons

Some members of the senior management team are pretty harsh. Culture starts at the top and when you see that one of them is calling you the initial reaction tends to be "uh oh." This isn't the reaction a senior manager should want to create, but I think they know (and like it).

    Advice to Management

It doesn't make you weak if your staff likes you. It makes you weak when you rule by fear.

See your work on TV weekly, hone your technical skills in editing this product

    Cons

Reviews are not usually anonymous. Even writing this doesn't feel safe.

    Advice to Management

Rather not say anything than aggravate anyone. Management does not usually take advice.

    Pros

As an Associate Producer you will be assuming the role that a much more senior team member would at another organization.

    Cons

There is no work/life balance. Hours are long and you will not get overtime. Comp days are hard to come by.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment (More than 3 years)

    Pros

great product, fun environment, fast paced global business,

    Cons

Crazy senior management, 24/7 expectations, nothing is ever good enough, no meetings ever start on time, turnover as senior staff is often terminated by chairman.

    Advice to Management

I think it's ridiculous to think that management will ever listen to advice while this is still a family business.

Great colleagues, fun brand to work with, great benefits, can learn a lot

    Cons

Very political work environment, lack of defined career progression, work life balance is not great if you want to succeed, training and development opportunities rare

    Advice to Management

You have a very fun brand to work with. Focus on making working at the company equally as fun and taking the time to invest in employees of all levels instead of just senior management.

Former Employee - Manager in Norwalk, CT

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are some good people there, but they get steamrolled by the egotistical execs who are only out for themselves.

    Cons

It's a place where you have to watch your back at all times. Decisions are often based on if it will trigger an exec's bonus rather than if it's in the overall good of the company.

    Advice to Management

The current management structure does not work. All it does is create fiefdoms and inflate the egos of those on top. Ultimately, it will crumble upon itself. There's only only guy who can right this ship, and he needs to do it.
