    Pros

WWE is a great company to have on paper on your resume. You will get to work on cool stuff that reaches millions of fans/ppl. Great learning experience and great stepping stone in your career.......Vince really does rock IRL.

    Cons

If you are into office politics, favoritism, racism, sexual harassment, breaking rules and laws - this place is for you! If you are white or indian, you will have a decently long career. If you are anything but those, MAX you will stay there is 3 years. Place is a ticking time bomb of law suits ready to go off.

    Advice to Management

    None, you guys do you!

    Pros

Most people director level and below, work hard. They put their blood, sweat and tears into the place. WWE is a machine. They churn out work and produce faster than any other organization I've ever encountered. Other organizations are always impressed if you have worked there, especially if you can last more than 5 years. It is known for a fast paced environment and if you can keep up and be a yes man without having an alternate opinion you will succeed.

    Cons

It is not a 9-5 job. It is a live event company that is ridiculously political. Upper management is phony and only care about themselves. Most of the company is a boys club. You can give your life to the place, work long hours, do work on the wkend and there is no respect for those that are hard working and loyal. You will never be allowed to work from home, and are forced to come in on terrible snow days to show face. You have to be ruthless, phony, and political to succeed. If you want to be happy go elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Have managers and directors take courses so they are educated on systems and so they have the knowledge to get another job in their field. Chances are if employees stay for longer than 5 years, their knowledge on other technology and systems will be forgotten. Respect the employees who do the actual work and are in the office or home at night working on the projects, not just the ones who present the work.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They generally pay well and have very good benefits. There are a lot of passionate people working there. Interesting company willing to try new things.

    Cons

Some members of the senior management team are pretty harsh. Culture starts at the top and when you see that one of them is calling you the initial reaction tends to be "uh oh." This isn't the reaction a senior manager should want to create, but I think they know (and like it).

    Advice to Management

It doesn't make you weak if your staff likes you. It makes you weak when you rule by fear.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

There are some good people there, but they get steamrolled by the egotistical execs who are only out for themselves.

    Cons

It's a place where you have to watch your back at all times. Decisions are often based on if it will trigger an exec's bonus rather than if it's in the overall good of the company.

    Advice to Management

The current management structure does not work. All it does is create fiefdoms and inflate the egos of those on top. Ultimately, it will crumble upon itself. There's only only guy who can right this ship, and he needs to do it.

I have been working at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Really depends on your department, but I work with talented people. WWE is generous with free live event tickets, they have above average benefits, and the brand name is very conducive to getting business done when dealing with outside world. Potential for lots of travel, depending on department. Like anyplace sometimes deadlines get hectic, but I'm still able to see my family & not have to work constant 60-80 hour work weeks. Many have said otherwise, but every department is different.

    Cons

Old equipment & ideas, they are 10 years behind on everything, very slow to get promoted, run like a bad mom & pop operation for how big they are, people don't feel taken care of, very much a "this is how we've always done it" mentality, low morale amongst most departments from what I see. A lot of people are very miserable & just going through the motions.

The buck starts and stops with one man, Vince McMahon. There are 5-6 other people that have varying degrees of actual power in the company. Things simply don't get done until the absolute last second, because Vince and a few others have to sign off on EVERYTHING, but have very little time to do it. Not smart or efficient business at all. Majorly bloated, incompetent senior management. Don't ever expect to get an answer from anyone that has a title of EVP, SVP, or VP, as they are all paralyzed with fear to make any real decisions so they can continue to be yes-men and collect their paycheck. Once they clear out most of the people that have been there 20+ years, this place can really be innovative. There are some very talented people there that are stuck in the mud, waiting their turn, & should be running their department. They have also lost a lot of talent due to incompetent management.

The machine has become so big it kind of runs itself, so their bonehead business decisions haven't completely ruined the company... yet.

    Advice to Management

Vince, had over the day to day to Stephanie and Hunter. Stephanie and Hunter, fire all the senior TV executives (ALL OF THEM) & do a mix of promotions into those spots, along with new executive hires (who understand the product). WWE is in a new era, and needs to act like it. It's time for a massive housecleaning.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Above average comp (if you're aggressive negotiating), good benefits, sizable company but small enough that you get to know many people, passionate fans, company gives back to community

    Cons

Too political, micro mgmt culture, no decision making power even for sr execs, initiative is frowned upon, mediocre talent at best throughout org, incompetent middle mgrs (svp/vp) are killing the company as they can't leave and fight to survive (forcing good jr employees to leave frequently as hard to maneuver around these career killers), terribly bloated finance group with mgrs that serve no tangible purpose, exec team operates in fear of McMahon family

    Advice to Management

Vince is holding on too tight - appoint a ceo to run the company like a real business. Assess bench strength and get rid of these incompetent middle mgrs - a 360 review will flag bad ones quickly

    Pros

Good benefits and for the most part some good people that I will never forget.

    Cons

People are promoted based on "friendships" they have with members of management. The finance department was a nightmare!!!!! HORRIBLE leadership!!!

    Advice to Management

None really, since I left nothing has changed so it looks like they like the culture.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time

    Pros

Good benefits, stock plan, and salaries. One of the few entertainment companies in CT if you want to work in the biz and live there. Free tickets to show, you get the week between Xmas and New Years off, and occasionally get to chat with Vince, Stephanie, or other stars, if that's important to you.

    Cons

There's a culture of fear and survival here. Your colleagues can be fine one day, then devolve into blame and finger-pointing when some VP who won't last more than 2 years gets upset over something that doesn't matter. People become frantic and everyone works to cover their butts. Moreover, you often have to work nights and weekends because senior management does just to keep their jobs.

    Advice to Management

You have a talented employee pool who are afraid to come to you with ideas, yet collectively they have the answers to the problems you create and often can't solve.

I worked at World Wrestling Entertainment full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The good part of working at WWE is the brand! Even if you're not a Wrestling fan, you can't help but be enthusiastic about the engine that sells wrestling. The Community group does a great job humanizing the organization with their efforts with the American Cancer Society and Special Olympics. Most of the wrestlers are great people and treat everyone respectfully and appreciative of the teams that support them!

    Cons

The corporate culture is horrible! The culture is one of blame and CYA. It is an organization that claims that they want process and innovation when in reality it is one that is driven by live TV/Network and can't sustain a process driven model of anything-whether it's creative, development or financial. The digital team doesn't have enough experience and depth to bring any product to life successfully -at least one that isn't fraught with defects and significant failures. The leadership team didn't care about the individuals, only that they produced and made them look good-certainly not about the team. I may have learned a lot technologically but it wasn't worth the 60 hour work weeks and lack of support and appreciation for those efforts.

    Advice to Management

Hire people that are open minded, not chauvinists. Hire leaders not bosses and people that are interested in getting the job done and not blaming others for mistakes-encourage some failures. If the Digital organization was run the same way that Live Events were then the teams would be much happier and productive.

    Pros

Great junior level staff with ability to receive free tickets to the show. Additionally, the office is closed from Christmas to New Year's.

    Cons

Work from home discouraged, there is no work/life balance and promotions are incremental at best but not much incentive as it's better to leave to rise in your career.
