I have been working at Worthington Industries full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent pay, all the over time you could want, flexibility, awesome profit sharing, health care, 401k

    Cons

Work almost every weekend, cut throat department, not apt to change from old ways of thinking or trying new stuff, group leaders make the calls over engineering

    Advice to Management

They upper management needs to be more informed of what the group leaders are doing. When engineering makes a call off of statistics and logic they need to go with that... not with what the group leader says.. most group leaders are uneducated and do not know the equipment

I worked at Worthington Industries full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

quarterly bonus was great. If you like to spend your life at work this is the place for you, ten hour days mon-fri eight hours sat and sun.

    Cons

everything there is business politics. Its worse than high school there. Management works to get employees to work against each other.

I have been working at Worthington Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits,polite coworkers, decent pay.

    Cons

This company is physically abuses your body. They talk about safety constantly but their version of safety is wearing gloves and cut-resistant sleeves but at the same time they require their employees to move cylinders that are hundreds of pounds alone with no help at a pace that truly hurts your body. The heat during summer is excruciating. I'm truly surprised that injuries don't happen hourly at this place. The cylinders range anywhere from 15 pounds to almost a thousand pounds their method of moving them is rolling them as fast as you can to keep up with the line. My back and my legs are destroyed daily. The production rate is very fast actually too fast to maintain a healthy body. Physical pain from being overworked and rushed. They aware that certain jobs are dangerous but have you rushing to the point mistake is inevitable I have worked numerous physical jobs but if you're interested in safety Maybe The Dangerous Ones should not be rushed

    Advice to Management

I understand that money comes from faster production. It would be nice if you would slow down the lines enough for people to take a breath. When I'm older I would like to be able to walk and have a back that still functions. I'd like to be able to go and enjoy my life after work instead of being in pain. And please don't criticize the people that work hard and need a little bit more of a break then the two short breaks you offer them throughout the day while they're putting themselves at risk and destroying their body for the rest of their lives. If you want safety. Don't have employees do such a dangerous job at a rate where they cannot think fast enough for what they're doing. I'd like to keep all my fingers and back intact.

    Pros

Great 401k and profit sharring is pretty good. Most co workers are willing to help if needed.

    Cons

Favoritism and management trying to make names for themselves. Lots of people throwing others under the bus.
