I have been working at Wowza Media Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Company culture that fosters open-mindedness, impactful work that is frequently adopted by the team, and we can make our own destiny by establishing projects that can achieve solid results.

    Cons

Hierarchy is nontraditional, so you need to define your own career path, but will have strong support in following that path.

    Advice to Management

Continue offering tools for personal growth, but with some guidance. Resources for personal improvement are abundant, but also overwhelming. Mentorship would be extremely helpful.

I have been working at Wowza Media Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Flexible in-office policy (get to work remote)
    - Provide any equipment and software you might need
    - Stocked kitchen at the office. Great snacks!
    - Best company culture I have ever encountered by far
    - Management really listens
    - Not afraid to try new things that might work better than current process
    - Genuinely customer-focused
    - Great benefits, generous PTO policy
    - Truly deliver work/life balance
    - It might sound trite, but teamwork really is a thing here

    Cons

    - Core product focus can shift at times
    - Office can be a bit distracting for some types of work (working remote an option, however)
    - Sometimes managerial decisions can be a bit opaque (but you're encouraged to ask questions and get real answers)

    Advice to Management

Overall, keep doing what you're doing, but please keep in mind that shifting the focus of the entire company from one big thing to another is an expensive and consuming (time and mental energy) task for all involved.

Would like to see a more defined career path although employees can raise their hand to take on new projects and expand work areas.

    Advice to Management

Continue on the culture path and work to stimulate growth

I worked at Wowza Media Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Snacks, lunches, and happy hours. Co-workers are smart hard working professionals and loved going to work every day. They try to empower their employees who to be change agents.

    Cons

They are operating out of a type of "flat" organization. This is relatively new for the company so there were some growing pains. Most people seem to embrace the change though.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work

I have been working at Wowza Media Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Too many to list, but the positive attitudes and next level professionalism is bar none. Working remote and treated like an asset instead of a number is, as another stated: Refreshing. A company that will make sure you have the tools to succeed. Open to new ideas, and more professional than any experience I have had so far.

    Cons

It will make it hard to work anywhere else. It will make you look back with dismay at time wasted in toxic environments that destroyed your confidence and drive ...

    Advice to Management

Keep listening and interacting, it is making all the difference.

I have been working at Wowza Media Systems full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

i've never worked for a company that truly values the input and feedback from its team members at all levels. Working here gives you the freedom and flexibility to do great work and focus on quality outputs.

Its a globally diverse company and with that the management team does a great job of providing tools to ensure those who are not in the corporate office feel included and part of the action whether thats an all hands meeting or a team building trivia night.

Aside from all of that, the technology itself is just cool. Hearing the use cases from customers and how they leverage the video streaming products really makes each day unique.

All in all if you have the opportunity to work here I would highly advise you take it. The people, culture and focus on the customer experience make this a refreshing change from other companies.

    Cons

Typical growing pains with fast growth, this will pass as processes continue to evolve to remain scalable.

    Pros

Wowza is a very generous, energetic and fun company to work for. The majority of the people here are awesome and supportive, there are many very generous and numerous perks and benefits and amazing views from the Golden office. Dave Stubenvoll is a ridiculously smart and caring leader, a savvy business man and is greatly respected by his staff.

    Cons

Some growing and communication pains as the company becomes larger and more successful and and there are a few difficult people to deal with (but those are inevitable within any company)

Smart, friendly, collaborative people. Generous time off and healthcare benefits. Great office space with outrageously-stocked kitchen & bars (yes, more than one).

    Cons

Small startup growing pains - if you are not ready to roll up your sleeves and wear many hats, look elsewhere.
