Steer clear - Multiple layoffs the last few years - Better agencies out there

Work from home Unlimited PTO Slack could be fun sometimes Some really smart and nice co-workers
Cons
A lot of leadership has only ever worked at WP Executives completely out of touch with anyone below VP (unless you're in LA office) Work from home can feel completely isolating if you're not near an office Chocked full of cronyism - go to dinner with the right people and you'll get ahead especially if you're in LA (even as your clients leave) Multiple layoffs over the last few years Lost some major, major high dollar clients in the last 1-2 years Middle management and some senior mgmt are very young and very inexperienced Managers offer employees bonuses, raises, and promotions only to back track. (happens way more than it should) Teams are overworked and underpaid If you don't do new business pitches, you will be left behind

Not what it once was - deteriorating management and not a place for growth

- Half day Fridays - Decent pay - Good employee equipment
Cons
Wpromote is not what it once was. As they have stopped their business expansion, many of the previously overshadowed issues are re-surfaced. As a result, it was sad to see so many of the smartest and best co-workers I've worked with end up leaving. Resulting in uneven skill set levels, having to work with unqualified or lower qualified people in the team. Wpromote has lost many clients in the past 6 months, some were due to the current economic state and many were due to poor management. Wpromote has been experiencing shifts in management and developing a "corporate" style of management. Implementing internal processes that people must comply and many of these tasks are useless and a waste of time. This new management structure takes away many previous decision-making authorizes from the Sr manager level or below, which this limits critical thinking and decision making skills as you are just taking orders. Management has a one size fits all type approach, they don’t adapt to individual performances or your track record. Making the system very in flexible. You will feel under valued and a lack of trust, no matter how much you’ve proven yourself because your title is lower. Upper management has a lack of understanding (disconnection) of what goes on in the day-to-day side in the lower levels. They only send out periodic review surveys and blindly believe they are doing a good job.

Pros
Collaborative work environment: I appreciated the fact that Wpromote encouraged collaboration among team members. It made it easier to share ideas and solve problems as a team.
Cons
• Stability: The company just had a large layoff of around 100 people. The loss of clients and other issues make Wpromote seem like a pretty unstable environment. • Lack of Diversity: The entire executive level of the company consists of multiple older white men named Mike and Paul. Not much diversity where it really counts. • Poor Management: Management at Wpromote leaves a lot to be desired. They lack communication skills and often make decisions without considering the impact on employees. • Limited career growth: There is not much room for career advancement at Wpromote. They do not offer many opportunities for employees to grow and develop professionally. • Long working hours: Wpromote demands long working hours, often without compensation for the extra time put in. This has led to employee burnout and decreased productivity. • Lack of work-life balance: The work-life balance at Wpromote is poor. It is touted as world-class work life balance on paper, but that does not carry over to the real working environment. Employees are often required to work on weekends and holidays, which can be difficult to balance with personal commitments. Overall, Wpromote is not a great place to work. The cons outweigh the pros, and I would not recommend this company to anyone looking for a fulfilling and supportive work environment.

Terrible Management, Growth, and Pay
Jan 31, 2023 - Marketing ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Smart people, “agency life”, half day Friday’s
Cons
Where to start? In my experience, your direct supervisors don’t care about supporting you or advancing your career. They overload you with clients where you should expect to work a minimum of 50hrs a week with no additional compensation and “shout outs” are joke…expected to run at 100% for clients when the clients are constantly changing platforms. If you don’t answer a clients email in 15mins, expect to hear about it. No clear career path whatsoever and when I asked about it, I was brushed off multiple times. Your merit promotion/raise is only around 1.5-3% so that also sucks on top of being SEVERLY underpaid… they were about 20k short of the average in my area but they claim to have “fair compensation” lol. You will be stressed out, want to have a mental breakdown and eventually want to quit from the stress alone. Level of difficulty for clients vary so one person could have 5 easy accounts with not much to do and someone else can have 5 accounts where 2 of them already give you enough work for 40hrs. There’s a reason they didn’t win best places to work in 2022 from Glassdoor, not adage, which doesn’t capture true opinions, the adage voting form is sent to all Wpromote employees who are “encouraged to answer positively” All Wpromote employees are required to complete their Glassdoor review at 30 days from your Asana checklist so consider all 5 star reviews pretty skewed

Embarrassing and horrible pay
Apr 8, 2023 - Account Development Representative in Denver, CORecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Work from home PTO Cool office
Cons
Terrible pay My manager lead me on to believe for months that I would be getting a promotion and a substantial pay raise. Toxic work environment. If you don't drink from their kool aid you will not get anywhere in this company. Work performance is not the key to success in this company.

Downhill since being bought out
May 23, 2023 - Associate DirectorRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Half Day Fridays, fully remote, lots of smart people, interesting clients
Cons
severely understaffed & no urgency to fill those roles, upper leadership is more focused on selling new accounts than managing existing ones, very vague organizational structure

Serious internal issues
Apr 30, 2023 - Paid Search Analyst in Chicago, ILRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Remote work, lots of flow between teams
Cons
There are some serious management issues at Wpromote. People get promoted too quickly into managers, until they are in control of a team that they don't know how to handle without authoritarianism. Sexism is rampant - even on a daily basis, the office is often split with ladies in one group and men in the other. This most often happens at after-work hours, although during the day as well the friendly chit chat is gender-based.
