I have been working at Wreco full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Diverse types of projects to work on.

Younger work force that do a lot of activities together off hours.

There are a lot of very knowledgeable people to draw information from.

There are a lot of opportunities to learn new skills.
Management incourages a lot of social events in the office such as dress down day, pumpkin decorating contests, and bake offs for special holidays.

    Good benefits package.

    Cons

Being a small company title promotions may not be as quick as larger companies but if you are willing you can be given a lot of responsibility on projects.

May have more peeks in work load.

    Advice to Management

Consider creating more grades within the company structure so people can be promoted more rapidly.

I have been working at Wreco full-time (Less than a year)

WRECO has allowed me to work on a variety of projects and improve my skills in a range of tasks.

    Cons

Compensation is competitive but not industry leading.

    Advice to Management

Develop existing employees into managers as the company grows. Management is a skill not taught is most degree programs so allow for learning.

I worked at Wreco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People I worked with at WRECO are all nice. Never had any problem with anyone. Many experienced and smart engineers that can be your mentor if you are new to the field. Good benefit package.

    Cons

Relatively lower pay compare to others in the industry. Lacking resources that is essential in facilitating higher efficiency such as a better plotter, and software for more productive work flow. The low efficiency of work flow instead of small investment on such resources is difficult to justify. Lack of career development opportunities. Often need to work overtime or even night shift at the field without good compensation. Senior assigned tasks without giving clear instruction or essential project information to start. Management promote more frugal values than cost-efficient approach. More serious than fun culture.

    Pros

    - You will work on a wide range of interesting projects and develop technical skills quickly
    - Senior staff helpful but busy
    - Principal Engineer took a lot of time to explain projects/different aspects of engineering to me, which I appreciated.

    Cons

    - No clear path for growth within the company
    - Very intense workload (I worked overtime everyday to meet daily internal/external deadlines)
    - Below average industry compensation

    Advice to Management

Give equal treatment to all staff and try to develop staff that truly cares.

    Pros

Lots of projects and constantly busy. Management respects staffs career path. Provides training to staff when needed, both for the staff and for the company. On the forefront of its industry. Company is respected within the industry. Monthly company event for teambuilding.

    Cons

Staff is overworked and does not get recognized for their hardwork and efforts. Compensation is on the low side and can be better.
