I have been working at Wunderman full-time

    Pros

Good energy in some offices and some talented new hires made recently. Client work is getting more diverse and allowing us to be more creative.

    Cons

The company still doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. There's a lot of talk about having the best culture, but the agency has a long way to go. Also very poor work/life balance.

    Advice to Management

    Practice what you preach

    Pros

cool space, perks, some nice people

    Cons

no strong management, hire a lot of junior people and keep seniors on contract and unexperienced managers, nice people, low morale, no processes

    Advice to Management

listen to some of the people who want to help make changes there. you have great talent on your hands but if they are told over and over , no...then you will lose the very people who can help transform you.

I have been working at Wunderman full-time

    Pros

Awesome people, generally fun and lively vibe, generous benefits, interesting clients

    Cons

Compensation and promotions are slow and not logically handed out, space is bland and not in a great neighborhood, changes in leadership and thus organization structure and process have not necessarily been positive for the agency

    Advice to Management

Listen to employees more, pay them better, and pay attention to the declining morale

    Pros

The Georgetown D.C. neighborhood is a fun area to walk around, grab lunch, and have happy hour.

    Cons

Long hours -- including weekends, inconsiderate expectations, no bonuses or incentives, mass layoffs when accounts are lost, you may be laid off even if you were not on a lost account, poor leadership, no interest in investing in employees, no appreciation for long hours, and executives truly do not care about the company.

I worked at Wunderman (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    The party culture
    The free booze
    The friendly atmosphere
    The work is easy
Basically it's like working in a University Frat/Sorority House. Think "Animal House"

    Cons

    • Management on the Creative side is loose, irreverent, and sporadic. There is a total lack of goal-setting or level planning. Basically the complete diametric opposite of Amazon :)
    • There is an extremely low bar for creative work in this office. The focus is on production work (re-sizing, sms messages, etc), although the Senior Management parades the company as the most creative and talented agency in Seattle.
    • The Account and Finance Team leads the Creative.
    • The Creative and Design Dept is brought in at the last minute, rather than being briefed at the onset of the projects
    • Co-workers are often drunk or high, during work hours. This can be kinda fun, and funny, but can also be a detriment to getting work done during business hours.

I worked at Wunderman (More than a year)

    Pros

People are well-compensated but it's not very creative.

    Cons

Very stale writing brochures and other collateral for pharmaceutical products.

I have been working at Wunderman full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The benefits are pretty good and they start on the first day of the following month that you start.

    Cons

After working there for several months, I found out that I was underpaid for my skill set. Also very slow on problem solving internally and for the clients.

    Advice to Management

May want to research more on pay rates for service. Problem solving is a big issue. Please consider strategies for internal and external resolutions.

I worked at Wunderman as a contractor

    Pros

The work life balance wasn't too bad.

    Cons

High turnover rate, no food (at all), lousy coffee, upper management never engaged with anyone not on the senior management team, weird team dynamics (strategy didn't like creative, account was gossipy, etc), no culture to speak of.

    Advice to Management

It's such a small office, why not have upper management be friendlier in general?
