Decent salary - tips and commissions can be amazing

    Pros

Once you’ve been there awhile and made relationships with the many many returning “regulars” you can make a great amount of tips. You always have the support you need from your team and management. Great job.

    Cons

Only raises you receive are yearly cost of living. So even after 8 years of working I only went up in pay about $2.50 per hour.

Secure and Safe Place To Work At

Feb 5, 2023 - Guest Room Attendant (GRA) in Las Vegas, NV
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

I have worked at a lot of other hotels on the strip, and this is by far the most safe I’ve ever felt working in a casino. Security is top notch. -free lunch or breakfast -lots of edr space and charging stations -good pay and decent tips -uniforms washed daily if you chose to -they have your carts stocked fully upon your arrival -very organized housekeeping system -trainers are really nice and try to set you up for success -once you’re out of training you micromanage yourself as long as all your rooms are absolutely perfect -the Wynn really is the best

    Cons

Okay there are a lot of cons. -they ignores your basic needs like a lunch per instance. there is no way you will ever have time for your “free lunch” if you are doing everything right in your room. & if you do have time for a lunch, you certainly are cleaning everything to a five star standards -if you are a steady extra be prepared to work 6 days required a week. they will change your schedule daily and not tell you, so keep an eye out. -depending on your manager of the day; prepare to cry, sweat and feel demoralized. -nothing will ever be good enough even if you win competitions and you’re productivity and quality is one of the highest in your departments -only allowed 7 points (call outs) for the whole year -house persons only strip 1 room for every 3 checkouts you have. & even then, they don’t strip for you really. house persons only really pick up linen here and shampoo carpets. -very, very, very strict. not the slightest spec of dust or water residue even the smallest decimal they have magnifying glasses and check for everything. -parking is really far away walk from location of where you work. Add an extra 40 min just to park and walk and then actually hit the elevators -housekeeping is the hardest job by far to do. I was a chef for 8 years and trust me this is harder. Idk tired to think of anything else rn.

Bellman at Wynn Resorts is a great job

    Jul 29, 2022 - Bellman
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Wynn Resorts is a great company with many benefits and amenities for their employees. Being a Bellman at the Wynn was a low stress, easy job with good compensation. The hourly pay is average but with tips you are making an average of 100 to 150 per day depending on your shift hours and location. As a Bellman, you get tons of downtime on slow days where you're mostly hanging out in a waiting room chatting with your coworkers or on your personal device. Management is fairly hands off and treats you with respect and dignity.

    Cons

Avoid becoming a laundry Bellman if you don't like working a lot harder for less pay, although since I left, I heard they're paying more fairly, and the schedules can be great for Laundry Bellmen. Another con is that some of the other Bellmen had very negative attitudes and would constantly complain about guests not tipping them or about it being a slow day, or just generally being disgruntled with the job because they had been doing it too long. These negative attitudes can make your workday feel longer and less enjoyable. It's easy to get complacent and spend the rest of your life as a Bellman, there isn't much opportunity for growth and development unless you move into higher level positions.
