    Pros

The best product in Las Vegas. It is clear the minute you enter one of Steve Wynn's resorts that he creates some of the best Resort Casinos in the world. Employees are encouraged, and do, take pride in their resorts and this creates a sense of unity and purpose.

Steve is not nearly as visible as he used to be, this may be as a result of his deteriorating eyesight.

    Cons

Constantly changing management direction creates an environment that thrives on chaos.
Those who thrive in this type of environment will thrive at Wynn Resorts.

Since the management of Wynn Resorts lives and breaths the business they expect other staff members to do so as well. What they need to remember is that others don't have an equity share in the business like they do.

The vast majority of our team is drastically under paid. They are expected to work night and day for a salary that is very difficult to live on.

    Advice to Management

Provide clarity and allow employees time to execute.

    Pros

The benefits are decent including a lot of local discounts. A small engineering team that is very good at what they do and are a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Very unprofessional workplace, a lot of meetings end in screaming matches and management does nothing to calm the issue down. The direct manager and director over the engineers are very hands on, to a point where they will push engineers out of the way and do the work themselves. This can be pretty frustrating/boring for any engineer.

    Advice to Management

    none

    Pros

You have steady work and a good paycheck.

    Cons

Unwilling to allow for time off when you want it. Unwritten policy - take time off when the hotel wants you to go. Management refuses to approve/deny leave requests until day leave to begin. Multiple call backs required to get even a denial of the leave request. Employer recognition amounts to an occasional candy bar or other significant items. Employer states not enough workers to get job done but new hires are rarely seen. Las Vegas has a double digit unemployment rate so people should be looking for work.

    Advice to Management

Remember your people.......take care of your people and they will take care of you!

    Pros

Let's face it. It's "The Wynn Hotel" (and Encore). It has Marquee Value. But the "behind the scenes" is different (see below). However, it was a very good place to work in many respects, team-members were very good, and supervisors and mid-level managers were good to work for.

    Cons

Pay is too low for a "World-Class Resort." Food is somewhat less stellar than it should be. Lots of little niggling paperwork issues. Overmuch concentration of process as opposed to results.

    Advice to Management

I would like to see management listen to the front-line employees a little more.

I worked at Wynn Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Beautiful properties, sense of pride for where you work (on the surface), good EDR, okay benefits, limited overtime

    Cons

Lots of unethical marketing practices, very focused on physical appearance of employees (even back of house), no growth opportunities, abusive and harassing middle management, intimidating and unstable upper management

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees when they have serious concerns regarding ethics or reporting illegal practices - you'll have less turnover

I have been working at Wynn Resorts full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Working in a nice environment

    Cons

Dealing with superiors that are here because of kissing ass everyday and not because of their potentials

    Advice to Management

No vacation days for the first year. Look around for better oportunities

    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee
    Current Employee - Anonymous Employee

    Pros

Being full time. That is about it.

    Cons

Get used to a constant change in middle and lower management as they have such a high turnover that they can no longer promote from within but hire from the outside. Meaning...every new Chef has a different way of doing the menu..and that is everyday! It is mind boggling try and keep up with an inconsistent menu. There was but is no more SOP.

    Advice to Management

Look at the backgrounds of some of these Chefs you hire or promote. Their 'skeletons in the closet' start to come out in patterns of abuse and flurtations.

    Pros

Best employee dinning room, beautiful and very well maintained property. Strong brand name.

    Cons

Backstabbing culture, micromanaging, lowest wages and salaries on the strip, many people fake and brown nosers. A lot of brainwashing about working in a perfect place. Management is condescending. Couldn't drink the kool-aid anymore.

    Advice to Management

    Stop being condescending.
