I worked at Wyoming Medical Center full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Loved going to work every day. The staff and doctors really got to know me as a person, not just an employee.

    Cons

I have nothing negative to say about working at Wyoming Medical Center at this time. I could have used a wage increase more often, but who couldn't use that!

I have been working at Wyoming Medical Center full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Easy to get a job here right out of school to gain experience, they are a regional medical center in the middle of the state so you will get to see lots of advanced patient cases. Many hospitals send their ill patient here so you will see a little bit of everything. Lots of opportunities for advancement due to high turn over rate. You can literally go anywhere if you stay long enough.

    Cons

This hospital is going through financial hardship so the staff benefits are continually being taken away to benefit the administration budget crisis. Lots of staff members leave for better employment opportunities so there is hardly any senior staff left, leaving clinical departments very green in their knowledge. Constantly understaffed so the patient to nurse ratio is too high to deliver quality care.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate your clinical staff more instead of focusing on making profit. If the clinical staff is not provided with the tools they need, they can not deliver high quality care.

I worked at Wyoming Medical Center full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Located centrally in Wyoming, Casper Wyoming is near many wonderful areas. Casper is also a exciting and vibrant outdoor activity area.

    Cons

Poor leadership tolerates harassment of its workers even after being reported and lackluster pay and benefits. Hospital is a hodgepodge of additions with a architectural layout that is discordant. It seems dark and gloomy.

    Advice to Management

    Re-evaluate how business is conducted

    Pros

WMC has given me ample opportunity to grow within the company. I have also been provided with several opportunities to receive additional education and training for my position and make sure I have the tools I need to do my job well. I love the people I work with; my boss gives me independence to do my job but is always there when I need assistance. We work as a team and help each other to make sure we get the job done at the end of the day. I have the privilege to work closely with senior management and they always remind me the work I do is valued and ensure I feel very appreciated.

    Cons

I think there could be some improvement in allowing non-clinical areas to set their work schedules to fit their lives and work style better. I know some departments allow this, but the organization as a whole hasn't yet adopted it, yet. I believe this would be a huge benefit and help attract and retain employees.
