I have been working at XING AG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - It's a stable and safe company that is having great success and high profitability.
    - It provides tons of opportunities to try different technologies, changing from one team to another, moving from one business unit to another, relocating to other cities, etc.
    - Nice benefits and competitive salary

    Cons

    - Too much burocacry and centralization. It's improving but still annoying.

I have been working at XING AG full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Well recognized company with abroad product landscape

    Cons

XING is more of a product company than a technology company. So most decisions are buisness driven. There are many layers of hierarchy.

I have been working at XING AG full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work life balance, and the feeling that the company motto "For a better working life" is really applied. Actually people management is generally cared with parallel feedback channels about your managers directly to HR.

It is a company looking looking at the future and trying to be there. In general it is a good company to work in, despite the room for improvement.

    Cons

The company culture is nice, but it is not encourage a friendship and community sentiment among the employees. This is something that is appreciated since some I got to meet some of my best friends as colleagues first.

There is some lack of professionalism that is being tried to be solved by hiring new people with high profiles and great experience and skills. However there are many things that could be done much better and the changes and reaction towards wrong decisions are taking maybe more than they should.

Technically (what is my area of competence) the company could be much more advanced. It is somehow stuck 10 years ago in technology. Sharing files in folders and sending them around by email? Seriously? Where are the cloud services?

    Advice to Management

Continue doing as you are, since I honestly think you're steering the company in the right direction, but there should be more efficient channels of vertical communication, especially bottom up, not only top down, so you can get fresh ideas and insights about what is happening in the guts of your company.
