I have been working at XL Catlin full-time

    Pros

Great pay, flexible work schedules, insane 401K match (match 200% for 5% of salary), flat organization, generally promote from within,

    Cons

Staffing is an issue. The HR department is just about non-existent which makes hiring a replace a long process. People tend to get over worked for a while because no one new has come in.

    Advice to Management

It is very easy to say cut 5% of expenses this year but with large growth goals and already being tight on expenses, comments like these don't do much good.

Add staff to provide a happier work environment
Practice what you preach and be more transparent. Do exactly what you say you will

Great compensation package and benefits - 401K match is great!
    Hard-working every day employees.

    Cons

No consistency or feeling of job security due to off-shoring tasks and continued merger pains.
Management is big on theoretical discussions and big ideas but lacks when it comes to implementation and taking action.

    Advice to Management

Adapt to changing environment when needed but the key to maintaining employees is to formulate coherent plans and see them through.
