I worked at XL Catlin full-time

    Pros

Competitive compensation/benefits for mid to low level jobs, plenty of flexibility and minimal supervision

    Cons

Strange “elephant in the room” dynamic with difficult colleagues with little to no emotional intelligence or self awareness. Preferential treatment given to suckups, disingenuous management always trying to work some kind of angle through double talk and petty games

    Advice to Management

Address glaring and obvious issues rather than fostering an environment of rampant gossip and disingenuous nonsense

    Pros

    Home office encourages collaboration.
    Truly a flat organization.

    Cons

Some people are set in there ways and are not keeping up with the changes made by home office yet they are not held resposible.

I worked at XL Catlin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great benefits
    Nice people
    Flexible work hrs

    Cons

I worked as a contractor for years before they finally offered me an (extremely low) salaried position. Don't prioritize the middle office even close to enough.

    Advice to Management

Focus on keeping the middle office happy. If staff are quitting in droves, make a change. Why would anyone kill themselves attempting excellence when they're already overworked and underpaid?

I worked at XL Catlin full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None really, maybe that they have free coffee?

    Cons

Management tells various untruths constantly. Your job is secure, we are not looking into getting rid of the complete Scottsdale office/claims unit. What is laughable is there is now a open position in Scottsdale? They just told the claims department that they are all fired and their last day is December 30, 2017. What is with trying to hire someone with the job title offered when you have just let someone go?

    Advice to Management

Stop trying to send claims overseas. India is not Little America, they are not legally licenced to adjudicate claims from the United States. What you are planning and implementing is illegal and disgusting too.
