Smart growth company, unparalleled transparency
Feb 6, 2023 - Marketing Manager in Nashville, TNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
CEO and other leadership are among the most transparent I have experienced in this industry. I find the CEO very candid and revealing during company meetings, in her employee newsletters, and just as a person. She is incredibly experienced in healthcare / health technology and asks the right questions to make sure the company is growing in the right ways. Unlike other health IT companies or even health IT startups I have been involved with, I feel like XSOLIS is in a much welcomed "sweet spot" where they provide excitement and something new as a growing company (AI in healthcare is still so new in terms of what prospects understand about its capabilities, and they truly have a viable product and customers who LOVE it!) without that dreaded fear of losing your job. On the other hand, XSOLIS is also not "too big" to have endless red tape with approval processes. They've been around for a decade as of 2023, and they're just now getting close to 300 employees. So I also feel like they've had very intentional growth -- not too fast and not too slow. This makes me hopeful that the company is going to be around for a long time. I feel like the pull-through of our company values, mission and vision are all very good, and that generally, we are encouraged to "be curious," "deliver excellence" and "team first," etc. For example, all employees are able to spend up to $500 on professional development opportunities EACH YEAR outside of regular duties. So I've been able to join professional orgs, attend workshops, order training curriculum, etc. that I've never had access or budget to do before. There are always lots of additional learning opportunities (lunch and learns, DEI enrichment content or events we can participate in), and I wish I had time to take part in all of it. The ones I've been able to attend however were very good. Just at the start of this year, I've noticed a lot of internal promotions, which I appreciate -- giving people who have already proven their loyalty the opportunity to learn, grow, and shine. On more of a team level, I also appreciate the autonomy with which I'm allowed to do my job. I was hired to do a job that I am uniquely qualified to do and am pretty far along in my career at this point. But in the past, I feel I have been subject to micromanagement or administrative red tape that has made it difficult to deliver what I know I or my team is truly capable of. At XSOLIS however, I have never had less "meetings just to meet," which is SO LIBERATING(!). I feel more empowered at XSOLIS (than perhaps anywhere I've ever worked?) to do what it is that I am good it and what I love.
Cons
* At the HR policy level, the various paths for promotion or raises is not very clear. * IT and HR setup with all of the various platforms and benefits administration you're supposed to have logins for was a rough process when I onboarded. But I am hearing that both of these teams have more smooth processes and more staff now, which has likely helped.

Pros
They have a good benefit packet. You receive 6 hours of pto every paycheck which 2 is 2 checks a month and you get 16 hours of floating time. They give you $500.00 toward any class you would like to take a year. They have 401k that they give up to 3% after you have been with them a year. You get like 9 holiday days of a year. Also, several other benefits I'm sure that I have not mentioned here.
Cons
The challenge is really. They give you so much work and expect so much from you a day. You are treated like a child. They Q/A you on every account. I mean really, they have hired someone that goes behind you to check your work and then they send you a message to let you know what you did wrong. You have alot of pressure and you feel unappreciated for what you do because it that. I feel they don't pay me enough to do what I do.

-Terrific work/life balance -Ability work with modern technology -Thoughtful and compassionate leadership -Leadership receptive to good ideas from all levels of the company -Team first focus. This company wisely recognizes the importance of focusing first on employee well-being which results in positive outcomes across the entire business
Cons
Company is growing fast which can result in changes in existing structure and processes. Thankfully the changes have been taking the company in the right direction as we mature and scale so it is easier to get on board with the slight disruption that comes with such change.

Pros
Working from home Laptop and equipment provided
Cons
C-suite is the most incompetent I have ever seen No accountability, very political and if you know somebody you got the job and or promotion Beware of speaking up and against senior leadership, you will experience retaliation Very little opportunities for promotion for people of color. I was actually discouraged from hiring ppl of color by the CTO. I was reprimand for not interviewing an white college referral. The DEI program is a joke, just words on paper. Developers stay clear unless you are straight out of boot camp and just want experience Customer support for the antiquated code base is non-existing Minority are use for their skills and knowledge and others are allow to take credit.

No accountability anywhere Work from home Easy access to latest technology Free food / drink events Great place to work / party if you are not in technology Company will be sold sooner than later

No accountability anywhere Management and leadership is a joke, clueless and not capable at all Politics rule everything, make sure you are in the right clique or you are screwed! Clique / friends will get promoted before you and nothing else matters Technical debt hell - you can play with new technology but the old technology is still what is live for customers and support is a nightmare Company will be sold sooner than later
