    I have been working at XTRA Lease full-time

    Pros

    - new operating system in place, with more upgrades on the way. the new system is leaps and bounds better than the old. this makes the work for operations and sales much easier and much more efficient.
    - career opportunities are readily available every year. if you work hard, learn the policies/standards of the company, and show the capacity to lead/train others, it will be noticed and you will have the opportunity to lead an operations team.
    - once promoted, you WILL be moved, no matter what. this is a great way to grow with the company and see different areas of the country. with branches nationwide, every promotion opens the door for new opportunities.
    - decent/mid-range salary, but lucrative bonus program for managers. opportunity to bonus based on performance of the branch.
    - hours are good. mostly 40 hour work weeks. plenty of vacation time, encouraged to use this.
    - overall great company to work for. good people from the top to the bottom.

    Cons

    - ceiling for operations is much lower than for sales. it is much more difficult to make it to the regional/corporate level from operations.

    Advice to Management

    - provide/create/incorporate operations staff at the regional/corporate level. opportunity for higher growth in the company is encouraging to all employees.

    Huge disconnect between upper management and operations
    Have to relocate to promote
    Sometimes required to relocate for a lateral position
    Varying schedule

    Advice to Management

    There needs to be more upfront information about how often employees are moved even prior to promotion and relocation. Being required to switch or cover branches without much notice is hard on families.
