      Pros

      It's an excellent job to gain experience and learn a lot about the industry. There is always help when you need it. After a few months you are invited to New Employee Orientation where you get to expand your knowledge of the company and get to meet senior management.

      Cons

      Because the branches run really lean it can feel like you are doing a lot to help run the branch and you might feel undervalued compared to upper management. There is only one promotion for the operations side so not much room to grow within the company without going into sales.

      Great co workers and bonus is good.

      Cons

      If a 0 star was possible they earn it. Terrible management (micro managing) managers above you look to pick you apart. The HR department is laughable... 0 transparency and employee loyalty they will fire you even if you are one of the best. You can get compensated better at other companies. No air ride and this is not to benefit customers, it’s to benefit them and bottom dollar. Terrible pay at branch level to save money to pay the region team and upper management which does not do anything I have to reiterate.

      Pros

      Some people at the branch level are great. You can learn alot dependent on who you are around. They give the opportunity to lay the foundation for when you move on.

      Cons

      Just read through all the negative reviews, they are not lying. Before I left, HR was instructing managers to leave glowing 5 star reviews. Ops assistants and mechanics really make the day to day functions run...but are ALWAYS stiffed on pay (while your regional staff makes money hand over fist, some in the MILLIONS). Loyalty is almost nonexistent, if you have ill family or personal issues...tough luck, you're expendable. You will have to clean your branch head to toe because they believe in a "cost effective" operation...but Home Office is a high tech building lined with TVs playing FOX news all day. You constantly will need to watch your back, as most upper management is cut throat.

      Pros

      XTRA Lease is part of the Berkshire Hathaway conglomerate, which gives them the resources to supply above average benefits.

      Cons

      The silo mentality is strong throughout the organization. Any resemblance to a workplace culture is nearly non-existent. Upper management is very distant and their loyalty to even the most tenured, dedicated and talented employees is zero. I've never worked at a place that essentially discouraged new ideas and input from their employees. I worked there for nearly 10 years and not one person was promoted from our department. A part of that reason is that the company is 35% smaller than it was 10 years ago. They are not growing. They are stale and it would take a complete overhaul to see real change.

      Compensation and at one time a very fun and rewarding place to be.

      Cons

      Loyalty is no longer rewarded. Management does not practice what it preaches.. regional managers taking credit for deals initiated and cultivated by others was overlooked by upper management ... very unfair practice.

      Pros

      Great job for a little while. You can learn quite a bit due to the many tasks that are required. Work is fast paced which means there is never a dull moment. Potential for enjoyable team environment at the branch level. Good benefits.

      Cons

      Not loyal to employees. Don't expect increase in compensation regardless of company performance. Corporate expects everyone to be their "puppet". Upper Management can be very deceptive about intentions. Culture is not as good as it used to be. Not a good company for long term employment.

      Pros

      Pay is good if your branch makes bonus and you are able to sign lease deals. Good support staff back at the St. Louis office.

      Not allowed to make any decisions without approval from upper management.

      No pros. Wear anything jeans or sorts. Half way decent benefits, great amount of time off

      Cons

      Working 50 plus hours, not enough people to run branches, past with them is how long they kept employees and no lay offs, future is how short of time they keep employees, will cut u lose no matter how long or profitable u have made branch, loyalty and dedication dont matter, nothing is ever good enough, always waiting for them to come and release u, need to trim back and make changes to upper management at corp, all bad reviews r correct and right on. No increases for salaried emloyees since 2006, said bonuses r why u dont get raises, bonuses r bonuses not countable income, u cant control the economy.
