I have been working at Xavier University full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible vacation, holiday and sick time. Good retirement benefits, full tuition remission, opportunities to become involved with the Xavier community, opportunities to serve the surrounding community

    Cons

Low pay, inconsistent hiring and promoting. Hard to get any kind of salary increase (even when promoted), little accountability at the creative and leadership level. Can feel like athletics (mens basketball in particular) is the #1 priority in terms of resources and budget

    Advice to Management

Pay and promote your employees fairly and timely. Set rules for promotion that does not differ from employee to employee. Create a culture of accountability at the leadership and management level
