Looks good on paper, but frustrating reality
May 18, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Good benefits and pay -Some teammates are kind/good to work with -Opportunities to step up as a leader (but at the expense of poor management)
Cons
-Unorganized/chaotic, which is surprising for a company of this size -I am the only woman on my team and often times feel singled out/targeted by male management -Lack of effective/efficient processes and communication -Occasional lack of respect from management/demeaning attitudes toward newer employees, lack of understanding and empathy -Lack of training -Poor leadership -Advertised as flexible work hours/good work-life balance, but this is not the reality

Pros
On paper, Xaxis is great. It's the lead and innovator when it comes to the programmatic space. There are some really great teams (but also not so great teams - see the Cons section). My manager is phenomenal but the success of her work and leadership is stifled by upper management and the 'old guard'.
Cons
The company is more like a financial company then a tech marketing company. Every thing needs to go through our finance team for approval which means things and decisions are often delayed. What is frustrating is that the finance team doesn't even understand our realities and serving our clients and brands. Yet, they're the ones making decisions. I don't think they've ever approach our team to even get an understanding what it's like to support an agency. I've been here for almost two years now but the veterans have a stronghold on everything. From decisions, to who we hire, to making improvements. We need change to systems and processes and the veterans don't like change.

Pros
Great people to work with. Can usually look forward to coming in.
Cons
Failure to recognize talent results in good employees leaving. Politics with upper management is very transparent and leads to poor work environment/mistrust. Too many products built for 'marketability' instead of performance.

Great people but poor management
May 13, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Smart people that are great to work with -Good exposure to the overall industry -Growing business model with recent acquisition -Good benefits
Cons
-Poor upper management that is too focused on rapidly growing revenue rather than growing employees careers and retaining talent -High burn out rate for all agency facing employees -Mediocre pay for the level of work involved -Too focused on one aspect of the business (RTB)

Best company and people I've worked for in my 10+year career - without question
Nov 7, 2013 - Director in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Great culture and working environment. - Very supportive, accessible and flexible senior management team - Extremely dynamic and fast paced -- things change frequently in this industry. If you're not interested in a company that is willing to take risks and adapt to keep up, may not be the place for you. - Unbelievably talented team from top to bottom. HR/Management also does an excellent job of hiring people that are a cultural fit. - Xaxis is an extremely fun place to be and management works hard to make that possible. We work very hard, but usually have a lot of fun doing it. - People like each other and are actually friends. Real friends. Not just work friends. Large groups of Xaxis people socialize outside the office every day and weekend. The scale and frequency of this is something I've never seen at another company. - Unbelievable growth opportunities. No one is going to hand you anything, but if you want it, you can build yourself a great career. People move between teams/departments on a regular basis -- if they've earned the opportunity.
Cons
- Quality of work we can do is sometimes watered down due to lack of understanding from agencies/clients we work with.

Pros
A lot of opportunity to learn and wear many hats
Cons
Terrible management and leadership. Executives are salesmen without knowledge of the products and digital industry

I used xaxis as stepping stone in my career
Nov 23, 2022 - Senior AccountantRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Not much pros in this company. Was always told I never did well but then I continued to move up to higher positions in my career. I am in better career position today than my toxic manager was back then.
Cons
No room for career growth in the accounting/finance team. Refused to improve on their current processes. Management talks down to you constantly and offer no praise
