Xaxis is Falling apart. Total leadership void.
May 21, 2017 - Senior Account ManagerRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Xaxis was really a great place to be during the early years. The place felt alive. Leadership was palpable and inspiring. In the last 2 years it has turned into a sad reflection of what it once stood for. Its embattled leadership is struggling to retain talent. There's still some silver linings - but they are getting slimmer and slimmer with time. - Still a big brand name in the industry - Training program is ok - Some smart people left in the org. You will learn. - Work with a large and diverse group of clients - Agency lifestyle - if that's appealing to you
Cons
- Since original leadership (Brian Lesser + Brian Gleason) moved over to GroupM more than a year ago the company has struggled to articulate a vision and provide a path forward. - Top down communication is terrible. It's a "boys club" at the top levels. - Clients are leaving at an alarming rate - GroupM is choking Xaxis. Cutting benefits. Freezing pay increases. Halting promotions and replacements. - Morale is at an all time low. - Relationships with the agencies has become extremely adversarial. Xaxis is the punching bag of GroupM. - Internal products are extremely weak. No real investment in tech. - Big ego's. Leadership has completely lost touch with the base. Constant management retreats. - Long hours. Low pay. Recognition is hard to come by - It has lost its "startup" culture. It's a big and bloated organization with lots of politics now. - Did I mention a complete lack of leadership - at all levels?

Good place to start but not to stay
Sep 27, 2014 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Good salary at entry level, great benefits Social occasions (if in the right department) Lots of smart people in the industry Generous vacation This placed is filled with smart people who know a lot about the industry. While working there for more than a year I felt like the dumbest person in the meetings (this is good). Lots of sharp people. They have social events which are fun.
Cons
LONG long hours low morale stressful work environment, no work life balance No care from upper management, their tactic is to for you to work until you burn out and quit (I have heard conversations) God help you if you work in ad ops. I worked for a company Xaxis recently acquired. Although I liked my work there, I felt little support from upper management. Sweatshop environment. The company cared more about clients over their employees leading to low morale and general apathetic work attitude. This led to high turn over and loss of business. It is no wonder the company went out of business. There is also a lot of finger pointing.

Cons
pay is abysmal. they pay more to people hired from outside than the people who stay and get promoted. every year is the same, new leadership steps in and promises to make change, but they disappear after a while and no one knows what they do exco doesnt seem to help employees

May 13, 2014 - Anonymous Employee in New York, NYRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
-Smart people that are great to work with -Good exposure to the overall industry -Growing business model with recent acquisition -Good benefits
Cons
-Poor upper management that is too focused on rapidly growing revenue rather than growing employees careers and retaining talent -High burn out rate for all agency facing employees -Mediocre pay for the level of work involved -Too focused on one aspect of the business (RTB)

- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
- Lots of smart people - Data-driven company - Decent pay - Generous vacation days - Good work-life balance - A lot of employee programs and activities
Cons
- Lots and lots of resctructuring, changes are not communicated properly from the top level down - High turnover - Not a lot of decision making power - depends on the parent company
- Current Employee★★★★★
Pros
- Great work environment, your collegues and managers are supportive of the work you do and want to see you succed - TONS of smart people at the company working to make progress for the programmatic advertising space - Exposure to many client verticals (auto, cpg, health, e-commerce, travel, retail)
Cons
- Frequent pressure for short turnaround times. The fast pace keeps each day exciting and challenging, but can sometimes be very stressful - Too much growth. Creating so many products and capabilities, it's hard to execute everything right with so much going on
