Xcel is very accommodating when it comes to the needs of their employees.
They support a wonder work/life balance, employer paid benefits and the staff (management included) has been nothing but supportive.

    Cons

More cross training would be a great idea to implement.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in your employees and they will show you investment in return!

I have been working at XcelHR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Excellent leadership, treated like an adult sales person not a number.

    Cons

no company is perfect. There are some growing pains in the product and adding some service offerings would make the sale more attractive.

    Advice to Management

please continue to treat the team like adults . It is so refreshing to work in an environment that is not micro management , has a work life balance and you feel valued.

Great people to work with, everyone is willing to help. Everything they told me in the interview process is exactly what what they are. I am provided tools and guidance needed to be successful in my position. Most importantly I am treated like an adult!

    Cons

I haven't had anything to complain about...

I have been working at XcelHR full-time

    Pros

The company is amazing. They allow the salesperson to run the territory like it is their own business. They don't micromanage, but still, hold you accountable.

    Cons

Every company has areas they need to work on, but XcelHR is always making improvements.

    Advice to Management

Keep motivating the team and being a great asset...

I have been working at XcelHR full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Free parking, that about covers it.

    Cons

Disorganized and disjointed organization with obsolete business practices and systems. Feels like a mom and pop shop that just goes through the motions, the end goal seems to be getting the next payroll cycle completed. A few rogue employees and supervisors have the most power over the rest even to the point of bullying. Because of their close relationship with the owners, they are untouchable and basically get away with murder and are constantly fighting one another.

    Advice to Management

You need to purge the toxic, overbearing and abusive staff regardless of how long they've been with the company. Enforce personnel policies, stop abuse and infighting.

    Pros

A lot of good friends to work with and good things to learn.

    Cons

Has it's ups and downs. As do other places I've worked.

    Advice to Management

Not sure why some of the other poor reviews are on here.

I worked at XcelHR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Yearly Christmas and bowling parties.

    Cons

No appreciation. No gratitude. No loyalty from the owners unless you were one of the original employees hired from way back.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate the dedication, accomplishments and, experience from employees whom have helped in making a positive change. When they leave, they will take that experience to your competitor.

I worked at XcelHR full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

XcelHR is a complex organization that covers all facets of HR. If you are interested in HR, or building expertise in any facet of HR/financial services, XcelHR is a great place to gain experience and learn from extremely knowledgeable individuals.

Aside from upper management and a select few positions, I'd say that XcelHR provides a great spring board to your next position by exposing you to all types of scenarios and types of clients. You will be prepared for most scenarios in the future.

The people are amazing. They are smart, dedicated, and genuine.

    Cons

Pay is on the lower side.

    Difficult product/service to sell.

Your hard work will pay off by advancing your career, but will be under appreciated by the organization.

    Advice to Management

    Set the priority.
