I have been working at Xenometrics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexible schedule. You work when it is "go time" and leave when everyone is done for the day. You get to pick and choose your after hours and holidays (it's science...you will have to work some after hours) The people are the nicest, most helpful people I have ever worked with. The biggest pro is you get to learn and do a lot. Everyday is different and you gain new skills everyday so you will have a glittering resume...

    Cons

Working after hours. Yeah it stinks but I just get some ice cream before, and they are understanding with after hours. The new training program is not the best, but they are working on fixing that to make it more effective.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Xenometrics full-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you want to learn how things go, there are tons of people willing to teach you the ropes. You'll get studies quickly.

    Cons

When I was working there as a tech, you did not get paid for what you did. Overtime is fine, but don't exhaust your good employees, reward them. There was a certain high-ranking manager that brought the entire sites morale down, but I heard they left, so I added a star.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your learners and turnover might not be so high.

I have been working at Xenometrics full-time for more than a year

    Pros

You get to pick the weekends you work. You also get to pick the holidays you work. You get overtime which about 80% of the people don't mind at all. You can also pick the after hours that you work. Obviously if you don't sign up for any every they get assigned. With the company changing over, many have gotten raises and the company is going through many positive changes including remodeling Great work family!!!

    Cons

There are cons to any business and like my title says, the grass is not greener on the other side. Many people complain about management but yet don't talk to them about any issues they are having. Management can't really fix anything that they don't know about. Drama with the technicians. It is a little bit like I stepped into high school all over again. It's not horrible but sometimes maturity is left at home. This...

      I worked at Xenometrics full-time

      Pros

Close to Overland Park, a nice city to live.

      Cons

A newer member of management seems to be taking control of the newly reorganized company. I just left after several years of working here as things just don't seem to be working. Turnover is through the roof...they've recently decided to rehire people that have been dismissed for performance issues if that gives you an idea....some of which have left reviews on this site. Purely desperation. Inexperienced workers...

I worked at Xenometrics full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Fun Christmas party. Fun, younger staff (not sure if this is a pro).

      Cons

I worked here for 2 years and I'm not sure how I made it that long. The overall work environment is terrible. Very few if any people working there enjoy their job. Management is very poor and has gotten worse over the last couple years with changes. The company was recently acquired but it seems to have only gotten worse....I'm not sure what dog and pony show they must have put on for someone to buy. Pay is terrible...

I worked at Xenometrics full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Every other stressful job/life experience I have had thus far since leaving Xenometrics seems laughable compared to the sheer horror of being an employee there. I have found myself saying "well at least I'm not holding down pigs while they scream/squeal bloody murder" on a few occasions and that helps deal with the present stress believe it or not. In a weird way this is a pro.

      Cons

-highest turnover rate I have ever seen or even heard of in a company (roughly 50% of the techs are gone in a year) -many people quit without having any job lined up (this is a huge red flag and indicative of the work environment) -the company works by bringing in very desperate, recently graduated biology/life science majors, and puts them through the wringer. The worst part is that they go through really shady recruiting...

        I worked at Xenometrics full-time

        Pros

Colleagues at Xeno - great people to work with!

        Cons

Management. The upper level management is horrible, especially the CEO. The CEO stated in a company meeting that if you don't like it here you can leave there will always be someone to take your place.

        Advice to Management

Treat others how you want to be treated. Respect is earned not given.

        I worked at Xenometrics full-time

        Pros

Good experience in a GLP facility; broad range of species with which to work

        Cons

Very hard on their workers, extremely difficult to have any sort of plans or life outside of work due to the odd hours, upper level management is very cliquish and there are a lot of under the table dealings for promotions (nothing is based on merit or talent, you're either in or you're out)

        I worked at Xenometrics full-time

        Pros

I worked at Xeno for about 1 year. I enjoyed my time there, I worked in the chemistry department. I know there are lots of reviews for animal lab techs, and they seemed unhappy and were worked harder than I was. I was by myself most of the day which I liked, just mixed up formulations and revised papers for the program directors. Hours were good, worked 6 am to 2 pm most days. Rarely weekends. Would have worked here longer,...

-Not great at giving direction, had no clue who my direct boss was for months -Senior boss was negative, I avoided him like the plague, thankfully I didn't run into him often -My interview was horrendous, the senior boss (see above comment) interviewed me. If I wasn't desperate, I never would have taken the job based off his demeanor during the interview. The senior boss told me I "wasn't that bright". Direct quote....

        Advice to Management

Don't treat employees like they are expendable. Give them a chance to move upwards. Be more positive with employees, they make or break your company.

        I worked at Xenometrics full-time

        Pros

Let me start by saying this was my first job out of college, and in many ways it was a beautiful, positive experience. The work I performed as a technician was never boring; there was always a slew of new techniques to learn and improve upon, and I found that to be very fun and interesting. The people I worked with, particularly my fellow technicians, were an absolute joy to be around every day. They all hold each other...

This is the first job review I have written. I am not one for hyperbole, so please understand that what I'm about to say comes directly from the heart. The phrase "a rotten apple can ruin the whole batch" perfectly applies to xenometrics, and that's a crying shame. Of course, I am referring to this manager that has been talked about in other reviews. I cannot fully express how correct those reviews are: he is quite literally...

        Advice to Management

Please for the love of god do something, ANYTHING, about this member of management. You know who he is. If you do, productivity will increase and your workplace culture will improve drastically. I guarantee it, and I am far from alone on this. Ask around a little bit. I, in large part, loved working at xeno. It was a great first job that gave me experience and friendships I will value for the rest of my life. I want the...
