Look for ways to retain your talent, salary is not the only factor. Good cafeterias, additional perks are necessary

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexible work hours & schedule, Semi-autonomous, quality US talent

    Cons

Unfortunately, due to the nature of BPO work the continual drive for lower costs caused the company to sacrifice quality US based talent for marginal to inept talent in India. Inconsistent leadership messaging and action sometimes hindered progress.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the critical few and make them clear to all employees.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive and rewarding most of my career.

    Cons

Vice Presidents are close to the vest and work around a tight network. If you are not in their circle of trust but are a proven performance, it doesn't matter. All they care about is their associates.

    Advice to Management

Wake up the Titanic (Xerox ) is sinking. Why? VP's are the ones that can't change.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for experience that can be valuable somewhere else

    Cons

No raises for years, no bonuses for anyone below a Sr. VP level. Service offerings are old, and they talk about upgrading them, but they never commit to do it, or they say they have but it's just talk...no real innovation. Senior Management is shortsighted and make negative policies to trim cost only to try to achieve inflated profits goals for the quarter. The problem is that more often than not those negative policies have to do with cutting people or salaries or training or anything that impacts employees.

    Advice to Management

Please recognize that you are not the only one that keeps the company afloat. Back up your words with actions, and take care of your employees.
