    I worked at Xerox full-time

    Pros

I learned how to work under pressure.

    Cons

It's a slave mill. Promotions based on who you know not what you know. Bullies instill fear to increase production. The last year of employment was before 2013; it's not letting me choose the right year.

    Advice to Management

    Value people over money.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The brand name still has a few breaths of life in it.

    Cons

From the largest shareholder, Carl Icahn: "Xerox desperately needs new leadership," Icahn wrote in a caustic letter to company shareholders. "There is still time for change -- but very little."

Leadership throughout the company has failed miserably. There are too many tenured old-school managers and VPs that only focus on their compensation and commission, leaving hard working first line employees to fend for themselves. Even worse, customers are paying the price through manipulative sales practices that are driven wholly by compensation.

Cuts in staff, labeled as "improvements in productivity" have gone too far. It's past the point of return. The best have left.

The last company employee survey was a dismal embarrassment. The overwhelming majority of employees stated they WOULD NOT recommend Xerox to a friend or family member. - That says it all. Any chatter of improving culture is a desperate attempt to prolong the inevitable.

    Advice to Management

For the few ethical management left, - you know in your heart that it's time to leave the company. You've know for some time now. Get over the fear and get out of that toxic environment. If you're a quality and skilled manager you'll do just fine somewhere else.

For the sleazy unethical managers and VP's (You know who you are - "LET'S GO!"), watch out for karma.

For the CEO - Hey, you gave it a shot. Coming in after Ursula was an impossible job. You gave it your best, now it's time you step aside and let Carl and his team take control and save what is left. You really don't have a choice. Shareholders deserve it.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits...can buy an extra week vacation and most co-workers are great to be with. 401k they are matching again to a point.

    Cons

Mgt plays favoritism and give credit to lazy workers but criticize those who break their backs and work hard for no pay. Heaven forbid you are hospitalized and when you get back you get let go for an IRIF. The pay is not comprable and they don't give Fair raises. They say one thing but they do another they don't listen to their employees especially those that been there for a long time. Operation manager's and team managers do not learn the systems creating the invoicing or job tickets. You request for them to sit with you to learn, they say yes but never do. Jobs are moving to Guatemala and the invoicing is screwed up because they don't want to train them right. How are the US customers to interact with their account managers or accounting team who are in Guatemala who don't even want to talk to the customers. Xerox is becoming a non friendly customer service entity. They used to be years ago but now the mindset is the Low Bottom Dollar that they can create so they can have more money in the shareholders / stockholders pockets.

    Advice to Management

Keep your experience and good hard workers and do not lay them off anymore. Pay them correctly and don't be afraid to fire those who are disrupting or threatening other co-workers. Funny each year you have us watch and test on Security in the workplace and ethical training.....BUT when there is a co-worker who sends an IM saying they want to hit all the women and can blow up the building... all you do is move them somewhere else... ESPECIALLY when they said they have a gun in there car.

I worked at Xerox as a contractor (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I miss the benefits they were good

    Cons

If the management would have hired people that know what they were doing instead of hiring people that he would like to have sex with the company would run better you have people with 5 6 7 10 years of experience being passed over by people who are still in training

    Advice to Management

None because if you say anything to management they'll fire you

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

None that I can think of.

    Cons

This is the most unprofessional place that I ever worked. They fired me for taking sick time they had given me, they say the only way it would be excused was to show the hospital kept me overnight. The problem I had a respiratory infection no hospital is going to keep you overnight. The management as well as employees act ghetto and think that is a professional way to act. They hold back employees and treat them as slaves. We were having mandatory six days .

    Advice to Management

Put people that have skills in other fields in appropriate places someone with a M.Ed in curriculum and Instruction is more suitable to training than the trainers without college who only read the materials and put people to sleep.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Company Car-Sales, 401K plan, outstanding peer employees.

    Cons

Upper management is completely disconnected from the field. Ex: Annual employee survey conducted by 3rd party organization, to help identify +/- of the organization. Survey stated that all comments will be released verbatim. Survey never completely released to employees, no comments shared. I guess they didn't want to hear the truth. VP along with her minions, bullied employees daily. Those same comments were included in the survey. The bullying continues daily. Xerox promotes mediocrity, as those same managers are being promoted. Sales compensation plans are changed annually. Not sure of any other companies where your budget is doubled, but your earning are cut in half.

    Advice to Management

As Carl Icahn has recently stated, a change needs to be made at the top of the organization. That will hopefully trickle down to the inept sales VP's and their sales managers to help provide positive guidance to the customer facing employees. Look at the survey results on your VP's and area directors on how negative they were, and help explain why you would promote those poor performers. Stop promoting mediocrity.
