I worked at Xerox as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

It's a job, you are making money in exchange for providing customer service for either Sams Club customers or SNAP card (food stamp) users. The managers and supervisors who worked there seemed sincere.

    Cons

Literally kneed to knee with other employees. Very crowded. Although the work is legitimate, its almost a boiler room environment in terms of space. For the SNAP customer service, you are reading a script. Also the pay is low, the pay initially offered was a trial/contract offer, upon accepting a full time positioin, I beleive the pay dropped down a dollar per hour.

    Advice to Management

    More space. Better pay.

Everyone works virtual, great work/life balance

    Cons

Any position other than Sales, is treated poorly and never get raises or even acknowledgment. It's a company that only cares about the sales people.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Overtime was almost always available. If you stay and grind it out, looked like there was upward mobility. When you clock out you don't have to worry about that place until you return. To be fair, there were many improvements the company implemented (Pay, Workplace environment) right before I left.

    Cons

Dealing with difficult customers, being docked in performance for losing customers with issues that began with other employees. There's no way you can support a family off of the regular 40 hour pay.

    Advice to Management

Managers have quotas and performance measures to meet from the powers that be, the ones I knew did what they could.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Paychecks don't bounce; co-workers are amazing people!

    Cons

Continuous layoffs and job re-titling. Cronyism is prevalent here. And salaries are not market rate regardless of what is conveyed.

    Advice to Management

Know what an employee does BEFORE you lay them off and stop being surprised that when you later realize what they do, NO, they do not want to return.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible work schedule, good/knowledgeable colleagues, highly ethical company

    Cons

Poor cash flow which equates to low R&D which means few product offerings, Continual business transformation is disruptive for business goals as well as day to day work, poor morale which the company is trying to improve, no stability (continual layoffs)

    Advice to Management

This is company full of loyal employees, which is evident in the tenure here, it'd be nice to see the company give back to the employees - bring back training, improve morale and spend more in R&D so we have new product offerings again. We'd all like a future here at Xerox.
