I have been working at Xerox full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Have the opportunity to gain wide range of experiences and skills.

    Cons

Having less people to do the same amount of work can make people feel overworked and tense. Not the best company in promoting entry level employees.

    Advice to Management

Communication and honesty can go a long way in making a person feel like they are part of a team even when the message is bad.

    I worked at Xerox full-time

    Pros

If you like working for a customer service type position this would be a good startup company. They do not have a good start up wage but there are ways to work up the ranks, just as with any other company. Good luck.

    Cons

Just as with any customer service position you sit most of your days and you have to listen to customers that are mostly cranky about their bills or their technical difficulties. Of course if you're going into the customer service field you know that, is what it is.

    Advice to Management

When you're hiring people to do customer service you should understand that it is a stressful position and you should pay them a living wage at minimal for the job that they do.

I worked at Xerox full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best reason to work for Xerox is that straving sucks and even a really awful job is better than that.

    Cons

This is a big company that doesn't care about its people at all and really cares more about getting money from its customers than about delivering a quality service or product. The regular emploeyes are often dreadfully underpaid and frequently taken advantage of. I was a manager and it nearly killed.me to see what my prole went through and there was only so much I could do to protect them and make things better.

    Advice to Management

People matter. Take care of your employees and stop being so profit driven that you take short cuts. This is short sighted and often leads to the kind of unethical behavior that gets companies in big trouble.

I have been working at Xerox full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great co-workers (Wilsonville), beautiful campus, medium work-life balance, and generally team work oriented at the Wilsonville site.

    Cons

Xerox cuts everything to reduce the budget. There are almost no employee incentives. They outsource everything that they can. They have recently have cut Wilsonville participation in community outreach programs, but continued participation on the East Coast. The company is run from the East Coast with little mind to how other sites are connected or operate. Layoffs are frequent and the site is becoming a ghost town.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to take a trip to the West Coast once in a while to see how disconnected the sites are. Our resources are shrinking on an almost daily basis and no one from management seems to care.
