    I worked at XpresSpa full-time

    Pros

Love the staff. They work extremely hard and are unfortunately underappreciated.

    Cons

Corporate office is a hot mess. Major lack of ownership for poor business decisions that negatively impact the field, but if you say something, you lose job security and are viewed as the bad seed.

    Advice to Management

Corporate needs to LISTEN to its employees rather than continually replace them. Eventually you'll run out of people to hire!

I worked at XpresSpa full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

We were a team at Xpresspa. I worked in the International Terminal in O'Hare airport and it was such a great experience. There was constant flow of customers. Sales were high and we all worked together to meet our sales goals.

    Cons

Sometimes I couldn't get a lunch break due to it being so busy.

  4. "What to know about XpresSpa."

    Pros

    Benefits offered for full-time employees.

    Cons

Pay to park every month, no break rooms / microwaves or refrigerator, always standing, company seems to always be changing it’s “culture”, corporate team is always changing, tons of inconsistencies in HR, pay is incorrect often, not as flexible as told during job fairs / interview, sucks waiting in TSA line before you start work and taking a bus ride everyday just to get to the terminal.

    Advice to Management

Understand not all markets are like New York!

I worked at XpresSpa full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Weekly paychecks. Great for new Therapist. Benefits.

    Cons

If you are not with a client you have to stand out front to show your available. It can be exhausting. Specifically if it’s a busy chair massage day. You could run through 10-20 clients a day.

    Advice to Management

Let therapist rest in between massages.

    Pros

The pay was worth it and I enjoyed working in the international terminal.

    Cons

Gaps between services, management lacked awareness of everything going within different terminal's spas. Employees seemed more distressed and displeased with time.

    Advice to Management

Truly learn the field of massage therapy.

    Pros

None! Literally... none!!! I can not think of a single positive thing to say.

    Cons

This is hands down the single most dysfunctional company I have ever worked for. The CEO, Ed, and the Director of Spa's, Angelia, are in an ongoing feud that results in the most outlandish and inappropriate communication to the teams in the field. I am not exaggerating when I tell you that the $90k Area Manager salary I was paid could not keep me around. Employees are rarely paid on time, never paid what they are promised, and worked until they eventually break/quit. This company has the highest turn over rate of any organization I have ever been a part of. Side note... I know for a fact (as I was asked to do this) that the positive reviews posted to Glassdoor are the result of upper management soliciting employees in the corporate office to write them in order to offset all of the negative posts. Seriously people, work anywhere else than here!

    I worked at XpresSpa full-time

    Pros

    Only pro is health care
You do meet some very nice people in there
You learn the layout of the airport

    Cons

This place is not worth your time they don’t respect you at all. They treat you like you’re a kid who doesn’t know how to do anything. They don’t train you just tell you to figure it out. A lot of the employees act like children not grown adults. Management is not on your side once they don’t like you they look for any reason to get rid of you. No organization in the company, don’t pay their employees what they are worth and mess with your money, had to wait a full month just to get paid one check and still owe money. Best advice to people go work some place else not worth it unwilling to work with you and long hours

    Advice to Management

Start caring maybe something will change

I worked at XpresSpa full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Cross-experience in different disciplines because corporate staff is minimal

    Cons

I worked with the original CEO, who was an extremely temperamental, verbally abusive and volatile person who would expect you to stay late into the night working on his personal projects that have no connection to the company. Also I directly reported to a COO type who had no understanding of what I do, this person would be replaced every six months and the new person wanted to re-vamp the brand from scratch.

I have been working at XpresSpa full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Your fellow coworkers are usually pretty fun.
    Money is pretty good considering.

    Cons

    Management is non-existent/terrible
The company is only concerned with making money, not you
ZERO room for growth, sure the money is nice, where's the goal to work towards?
Customers are terrible, you're in the airport and people assume they will never see you again
You will constantly hear how 'you' can improve, but scratch you head as to why management is never around or helping.

    Advice to Management

I have a lot of feedback for management, but honestly I'd rather keep it to myself. I would rather this place went out of business and something else that is more affordable and caring for their employees pops up, as it stands now, XpresSpa is in dire need of a complete restart on the way they approach management.
