I worked at Xylem as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

My supervisor was very professional and gave me projects that would broaden my experience at the company. I was able to freely talk to my supervisor about my performance and any issues I had with my work.

    Cons

The program requires you to move to different locations. This is a pro for most but can be a con for people wanting to stay in the same location.

    Advice to Management

Maintain course with this program. It gave me good experience in a variety of different areas of the company. Also, continue to select supervisors that show a desire to give the intern a diverse and meaningful experience.

I have been working at Xylem full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Xylem is one of the few companies growing in this tough economy....both organically and with acquisition. In addition, the CEO has a big focus on Watermark (www.xylemwatermark.com), a way for all of our employees to give back to our communities through volunteering and providing fresh/new water to hundreds of locations around the world who do not have access to safe drinking water.

    Cons

The company is very decentralized and too complex. IT systems not strong. Management is driving simplification to help - needs to go faster.

    Advice to Management

Keep investing in your people, as you have been doing, we/they are your best asset. Continue to be in the field - that is where you will have your biggest impact

I have been working at Xylem full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great culture, inspiring mission and products. Xylem has 100+ years old brands, but also the spirit of a four year old company. Global reach, very local feel to what we do everyday.

    Cons

Like many public companies, we often get very focused on the quarter or annual commitments to investors. While this is essential, it sometimes clouds our longer term perspective

    Advice to Management

Stay focused on growth. We're a great company and need to continue the upward growth trajectory and new product launches!
