I have been working at YETI full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I love working at YETI because you can be an agent of change at any level within the organization. If you are inquisitive and ambitious, the sky is the limit in terms of what you can gain exposure to. YETI is constantly expanding into new physical and systematic frontiers; there's never a dull moment in IT. If you are a student of life, this is the best school you could possibly attend. I started as a BSA Generalist and have had the opportunity to work with Sales, Supply Chain, E-Commerce, Finance, Marketing and Customer Service. We have so many exciting technology projects for 2020!

    Cons

YETI is frenetic and fluid. You have to stay quick on your feet with a flow to work attitude, or it can be overwhelming to work here. At times, it can feel that the cost is high (hours, level of intensity, etc.). But I've found the benefit from opportunity always exceeds it.

I worked at YETI full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

I will be forever grateful for my years at YETI. I was surrounded by people who are so talented, smart and brave. They were such a large part of my WHY and made me smile daily. They dare to dream and put in the work to make those dreams happen. If you are looking for a place that invest in their people, want to create something really great and truly is making a positive impact on the world, YETI is it. I learned so much during my time there and I am a stronger person because of my experience with them.

    Cons

Scaling a large company is not an easy task and requires you to be 150% invested, which often times leads to long hours.

I have been working at YETI full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good office environment. Break rooms, open desk floor plan, scenery, lunchroom, cafe, and gym. Recognizable brand and company Meaningful founding story

    Cons

People are not a priority. Only the bottom line. PR around statements regarding community and care from the brand and CEO are not reflected internally. Individuals that look good on paper but are poor fits for the company continuously get hired. Insights for NPD and consumers are based on chasing opportunities rather than creating opportunities. The GTM process has become an incredibly daunting and ineffective exercise from design to branding to sales. The products are becoming more quick-strike opportunities rather than disruptive. Our CEO deems innovation is the new colors for our drinkware line. YETI went public and made the Senior Leadership Team very wealthy as well as the board members yet still no option plan has been openly discussed for YETIzens. YETI struggles daily to scale to the actual size it should be performing at. Global expansion, IT requirements, marketing exercises, and legal support are constantly stifled with micromanagement and inapt priorities of leadership. Our Talent department has proven, through its actions, that it is not an advocate for the employee, but rather risk mitigation for the company. Typical of larger corporate companies that I have experience with. The facade of this company shines brightly with strong values, hard work, and innovative spirit, but that is far from the truth. Internally the culture is no longer a part of the founding core values.

"Don't be fooled by brand reputation - terrible place to work"

    I worked at YETI full-time

    Pros

    Onsite cafeteria and product discount

    Cons

On the surface YETI seems like it would be a good place to work - nice office, strong brand following, Austin company, however, that is all a facade. When it comes to what really matters, this place is not on par with other Austin companies. Zero work life balance and flexibility, this is a "butts in seats" organization. Executive leadership values how much time you spend in the office and your physical appearance instead of the quality of your output and skills. You can't trust HR because they are looking out for the executive team and not all levels of employees.

I worked at YETI full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Products and great employee discount

    Cons

Horrible environment, disconnected management. Terrible pay. No work/life balance, you have to clock in and out and you get one hour for lunch. Chained to your desk to answer very upset customer calls and rightfully so because production is a complete mess and the company takes orders (=money) that they can't fulfill in any reasonable amount of time.

I worked at YETI full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

    The employee discount on products.

    Cons

Lots! The first few years were amazing! The last year, terrible. I know companies change when they go public, but yeti lost what made yeti...yeti when it went public. HR grew from a few people to a LOT of people. Multiple people in HR with Director titles, but people that are in and deserve a director title don’t have it or the pay. About the pay...they claim to use comps in the area/same job etc. I call BS. I’ve been in my job type for almost 20 years and I took a massive pay cut to work at a place I used to enjoy. The compensation program for the sales reps is a joke. I’ve worked at a Fortune 1 company, I know what a real comp plan looks like. Morale is horrible. After they laid off 130+ employees claiming COVID, but somehow they are still reporting growth to Wall Street. I call BS again. I wouldn’t be surprised if there is a lawsuit against them. They claimed to have to restructure due to COVID, but some of the amazing people they laid off, now have their job posted, but worded differently...so they can claim it’s a new job. The first person laid off that they hired back...one of 2 HR employees. It’s sad to see the state that a once great company is in and how terrible their current employees feel.
