I have been working at YMCA part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Awesome getting to play with kids and have such a relaxed, happy work environment. Co-workers are also all really great.

    Cons

Minimum wage and very few hours, so paychecks are really minimum. Works okay for dependents, but no way someone could be independent off this.

I have been working at YMCA part-time

    Pros

The children are wonderful as well as some of the staff. You can workout for free and receive some
Discounts from certain places. Also it is a great place for a person that never had a job and would like to start working; however, you have to love children.

    Cons

They do not pay much; however, they expect you to do more than what they pay.

    Advice to Management

Invest more in the children instead of the fitness center.

I have been working at YMCA part-time

    Pros

Everybody at the Y is there because they care about community and make a great impact on the town around us. Many smiles from everyone you see and an extremely friendly environment to get work done. They also train frequently

    Cons

There is a lot of volunteering that happens at the Y which is phenomenal, but occasionally leads to unqualified people doing jobs because there is nobody else there to do it.

I have been working at YMCA (Less than a year)

    Pros

Help refuges immigrants and other vulnerable populations to advance their economic independence, social integration and civic participation. The Y helps newcomers restore hope, build stability, create opportunity and change future.

    Cons

Being in touch with others' pain, being a witness to the psycho-social impact of repression, abuse, intolerance and discrimination in innocent people

    Advice to Management

Go forward, with so beautiful and humane work
