I worked at YMCA part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The atmosphere is unbeatable. Its so rewarding socializing with children and having them remember your name.

    Cons

Management expects full-time commitment/passion for part-time, minimum wage workers.

    Advice to Management

Pay above minimum wage if you are going to expect a lot from your employees. Like getting up at 3AM in order to get to work at 4AM to open--- that alone should be a $16/hr minimum!

I worked at YMCA part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Loved working here, the staff was so nice and really worked to be a team. I taught swim lessons and lifeguarded and I preferred the swim lessons more. Being in the pool was way better than just sitting on the side!

    Cons

The pay is not the best but it can be a very rewarding job.
