    I have been working at YPM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    The culture is lovely, the onboarding experience was top notch, and there is solid personal growth potential for employees. I would describe the environment as formal and professional, but also relaxed and friendly with supportive colleagues.

    Cons

    I don't have any cons to share. Apparently some employees don't care for the quiet office atmosphere, but I think it's nice.

    I worked at YPM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Met some lifelong friends and we had a good time outside of the office. The office is pretty nice.

    Cons

    - Micro manage - Stale working environment - Upper management seems paranoid about its employees - Not much room for growthq

    Advice to Management

    Let your employees have some fun!

    I have been working at YPM full-time

    Pros

    The days are rarely the same and consistently challenge me to work smarter, think innovatively and evolve with the demands of client service. One must be detailed, organized and able to juggle multiple competing priorities to be successful. The ability to effectively communicate within the company and with clients, follow tasks through to completion and meet deadlines are critical. The people are dedicated, passionate and selfless. Teamwork is encouraged, resources are plentiful, and hard work and great work product are recognized/rewarded.

    Cons

    The media industry itself is challenging, consumers have so many choices and they are constantly changing how they interact with a company before making a purchase decision. It can be frustrating to work in such a fast paced environment and managing so many details can be difficult especially when there are few industry standards.

    Advice to Management

    Keep encouraging the staff to share ideas and resources. Some of the best innovations in companies come from the simplest ideas that grow through collaboration.

    I have been working at YPM full-time

    Pros

    Structured and very detailed training for new employees, and ongoing training if you want or need it for continued development. Hands on management and ownership team works as hard as everyone else in the trenches. Management is accessible for questions or advice and want to help you grow and honestly seem invested in your career and happiness. There is constructive feedback and mentoring. They let you know where you stand, and hard work is recognized and rewarded for individuals and the team, sometimes when you least expect it.

    Great group of people to work with. Smart, fun and ambitious, and they make you want to come to work and contribute. Always willing to help each other if you need it. No internal competition or dog eat dog environment for accounts or glass ceiling – just work hard and it will be noticed. New opportunities seem to open up.

    Company is growing and gaining market share so there are areas for promotion and advancement. All management is promoted from within. Owners reinvest money back into the company to support employees and company growth.

    Cons

    It can take a long time to learn the business and industry because there are a lot of details and processes to master. It can be frustrating so you have to be thinking long term. Be patient and know that it will get better once you have the basics down. Then you can focus on the more challenging marketing aspects. You have to go in with the mentality that it is a career and takes time.

    It is demanding work in a very structured ops culture and there are high expectations from management and clients. You have to work hard and be flexible and be willing to make sacrifices sometimes. It’s definitely not 8-5 every day. Management expects you to put in extra time to stay on top of day to day work and projects, but it is usually cyclical and they want everyone to have a reasonable work life balance overall. Like everything in life, though, you get out of it what you put in.

    Advice to Management

    Keep communication open with the entire team about company goals and plans. Stay open to new ideas. Keep doing offsite team-building events because they really help develop a sense of community as the company grows.

    Good co-workers and stable company.

    Cons

    Long work hours without compensation. Little opportunity to move up. Abnormal amount of company rules to abide.

    I worked at YPM (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Gained good experience that I was able to translate into other, more current industries. You know what's expected of you, and by meeting/exceeding those, there is growth.

    Cons

    Needs to be more trust both from and towards Senior Leadership. It would have been better if there was more of a team mentality with management, and not as much us-against-them groupthink.

    Advice to Management

    A steady work/life balance, trust in your team, and less rigid policies would result in people who are more eager to come to work every day.

    Pros

    The Pro is simple here, YPM has great employees. I feel that i am among friends and enjoy coming to work. We get together after work hours and and have fun. Promotions are based on time served.

    Cons

    This is a family owned company. It is a very tight management group. If you don't have a problem with that, apply and have fun.

    Advice to Management

    Talk to employees, get to know them.

    Non-managerial co-workers are all really nice

    Cons

    Micro management, extremely alarming high turnover, terrible company culture, a very uptight and quiet work environment, a lot of late nights and weekends. It's like working for the devil himself. Don't even apply.

    Advice to Management

    Relax and trust your employees. I would be concerned by the level of turnover. It reflects poorly on your company.

    Pros

    YPM has a great team environment - the work culture is collaborative. The employees and management team are willing to work hard to get the job done. It is truly leadership by example. You will be surrounded by smart, driven, positive and hard working people, which is refreshing compared to other companies.

    Many opportunities to learn and further develop your skill sets, and build a successful career at. They reward you for your hard work, and there is opportunity for growth since they promote from within the company.

    It isn't intimidating to reach out to the directors, senior management, or the owners, and there is so much support from them all. They truly care about their employees and are completely committed to developing its employees.

    Cons

    The ramp up in certain roles is difficult due to industry complexity so you have to be focused. The industry jargon is unique and unusual but over time understandable. Travel requirements are on par of many roles so you have to want to travel. Like many media agencies, the fast pace and work can be challenging and stressful at times.

    Media industry is so fluid that you have to be prepared mentally to change direction swiftly. Change will always take place and with that comes growing pains, which is a good thing if you want to better yourself.

    Advice to Management

    Keep the "Work Hard, Play Hard" mentality! Maintain the direct support as the company continues to grow, and keep encouraging and investing in your employees.

    Pros

    Office culture is very friendly and collaborative. Everyone knows your name and seems to care about each other. There is room for growth, especially in the Media Management department and I feel like I'm able to have a life outside of work, which is nice. Management has open communication and wants what's best for the company and employees. The company has strong values and takes the time to train employees. They set you up for success.

    Cons

    Overall, I have no complaints.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing and keep the communication open.
