    Pros

Home time is a plus plus decent pay along with great team members

    Cons

Just having to start off at the bottom and working your way up into seniority, but that's the beauty of it...GROWTH!!!

    Advice to Management

Make sure dispatch knows what they are doing when they call you on the call blocks...

    Pros

Helpful co workers. Refined and cultured professionals, old farmers and loggers, all types of people even some nuts. The union keeps the company honest and pleasant. A network of no touch freight operations, with 53' and double pup trailer options. Regional or OTR both have decent home time.

    Cons

Antiquated equipment and facilities, terminals merely adequate. No yrc terminal mapbook in trucks. No 12 volt plugs or radio in daycabs.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to run the sleeper teams over the best road instead of shortest route, inspect roads we drive on (via onboard cam) and have a minimum standard for reasonable sleeping road quality. Use better/ real mattress in sleeper truck. Tell facility maintenance that bleach is not allowed anymore, it is part of why the bathrooms are revolting, there are modern appropriate sanitizers for similar price. Executives should live on one of their trucks for a few weeks. All of your dispatchers and middle management seem to be excellent, the service people, you have a winning team that knows how to play. Try to identify, engage, and promote employees who are in it for the satisfaction of a job well done. Cross training and skill expansion opportunities exist. Efficiency upgrades noticed and appreciated. Certain important driver procedures vary too much from center to center and could be harmonized if you want to attain continuity of operations. A pathway for company drivers to become purchased freight operators with above average equipment.

I worked at YRC Freight (Less than a year)

    Pros

This was a fantastic place to cut my teeth in the freight industry. The connections I made here will influence me for the rest of my career, and will shape what kind of manager I want to be

    Cons

The hours were long, the environment was macho and chaotic, but its a job for a certain kind of person. If you can't take working hard and holding your own, then you don't belong in this industry. This terminal is no exception.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing. If only corporate would give them more resources, they could do a better job, but they're doing what they do best and they do it well.

Great regional runs . Lots of work. Good representation . Teamsters . Negotiated medical , pension and top pay . 58 hrs off or you can wave and take 34 hrs off and make a better paycheck weekly . The best job I ever had .

    Cons

People are not educated about the current situations of pensions , constantly blame union .
The government is regulating pensions . No understanding of labor rights .

    Up the good work

I have been working at YRC Freight (Less than a year)

    Pros

15 minute breaks can last as long as 30 minutes, and 30 minute lunches can last as long as an hour depending on which supervisor is there

    Cons

The company is a complete wreck. I knew something was wrong when all the guys told me to find another job my first week there. The only hires it can retain are the ones who still make $20.00+ an hour from before it went down the drain and became YRC. Everyone there is miserable from losing their seniority, 15% salary and pentions from the merger. When you start they expect you to call everyday for work until you make "the list" after your done paying $700 to join theyre worthless union at $40 dues a month to get $14.00 an hour. Oh ane there mandatory Overtime, so just when you think your done at 2:30 in the morning you have to stay till 4:30, which is great when they switch you between shifts that are a 6 hours difference. By far the most offensive, crooked company I've ever worked for.

    Advice to Management

Stay there, you guys deserve YRC.
