I worked at YRC Worldwide full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Health and welfare-very good benefits. Terminal used to be place of security and comradery. Weather in NM/Albuquerque is stellar making deliveries more easily accomplished. At one time, a good place to work.

    Cons

Micromanaging, hostile, dishonest terminal manager--Albuquerque NM. Discontinued retirement and reduced wages was a great move for YRC, but a terrible move for the employees.

    Advice to Management

Do you not know or care about how many accounts have been lost, how many grievance have been filed and or that the workplace satisfaction and workforce morale has been broken down on a daily basis since you brought Jeff Cain to the Albuquerque terminal? He must have something huge on YRC for you to allow him to continue.
    Thank goodness for retirement.

    Pros

Great pay, great free Union benefits, teamsters union so lots of job security, very easy work for the city drivers, last strong Union job left in trucking!which is great for us drivers

    Cons

May take a long time to get a route, lots of old senior drivers complaining that they are old

    Advice to Management

Modernize the operation to similar in practices as other competitors....figure out a way to get rid of older, disenfranchised senior teamsters that complain about the job, they don't realize how good they have it here

    Pros

None to report. Worst company I have ever worked for.

    Cons

Terrible leadership. Unethical treatment of employees. Leadership does not make sure the right thing happens for the hard working people of this company. Communication is extremely dysfunctional. My experience was one that could have resulted in a strong lawsuit but decided it was not worth my time/resources to waste any further on this company.

    Advice to Management

Stop the unethical business practices! Dig deeper into the underhanded way that people are unexpectedly fired without your company having just cause to do so.

    Pros

Pay is fair. Many of the workers try hard but are not given sufficient training. Office staff is supportive of junior managers.

    Cons

Toxic senior management. Union environment. Dirty place to work. Dying company. No meaningful training. Old IT and old infrastructure. Zero tolerance for mistakes. Perhaps the most hostile work environment I have ever worked in. I left as quickly as I could. Horrible, miserable place. Threatened daily, very abusive. Slave hours. Now I know why they cannot keep managers. They quit!

    Advice to Management

You lose 15 junior managers in 2 years? Maybe the problem is you, not them!

    Pros

YRC offers very competitive salaries and good benefits. They are an established ltl company backed by capable management and an experienced teamster workforce.

    Cons

Same cons as nearly anywhere in the industry: long hours, graveyard shifts, weather and other uncontrollable hassles, at times high stress.

    Pros

the teamsters have full benefits with no out of pocket expenses. there is overtime available most times.they are hiring drivers all the time.

    Cons

it is a 24 hour operation so working nights is part of the job.management works 12 hour shifts and their benefits do not match the teamsters.

    Pros

Nothing there is nothing positive about work here,I keep seeing people posting that there is "great pay" thats a bunch of crap lol unless great pay to you is starting off at $11.90 an hour.

    Cons

The union is sucking the life out of the company and management in turn treats the employees like trash constantly lies to them, writes up employees as much as possible. The terminal manager is a compulsive liar if you get hired do not believe that you start at $14.00 hr you do not you start at $11.90 that is a fact he with lie and do whatever he has to do to avoid telling the truth. lol you cant even ask him the color of the sky without him trying to lie about it.

    Advice to Management

Your company will be gone within 5 years because how horrible you run it.
